The Franklin Company Shipping and Receiving Clerk in BROOMALL, Pennsylvania

Temp. position through the end of the year.

$19.00 to $21.00/Hour - depending on experience

Day Shift

Monday through Friday

SUMMARY

Warehouse clerical/administrative job, requiring reading, math and communication skills equivalent to a high school education and one or more years of related experience, or equivalent, whose primary duties are the following: to ship goods from the establishment; prepare records of good shipped; make up bills of lading; post weight and shipping charges; keep files of shipping records; receive incoming shipments of merchandise or other materials; verify correctness of shipments against bills of lading, invoices, etc.; keep records of goods received; report damaged goods and shortages; route goods to the proper departments. Workers may use bar code readers, computer terminals or other electronic devices. Work will include material handling.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Movement and packaging of all outbound material including shipments to customers and outside service suppliers.

  2. Movement and receipt of all inbound materials.

  3. Proper use of software including manufacturing, freight systems and record keeping.

  4. Purchasing of required packaging suppliers from approved supplier.

  5. Purchase order entry for some MRO items usage for production floor.

  6. Work area needs to be kept organized and clean.

  7. Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Knowledge and proficiently of Windows-based computer skills.

  2. 1 -- 2 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.

  3. Organization, prioritizing and multi-tasking a key skill in this position.

  4. Forklift certification is a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Must be able to lift up to 50-75 pounds at a time.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work may require local travel. Work may require evening and weekend work.
