Peerless Pump Company, a Grundfos subsidiary, is seeking a Production Manager. The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for the successful implementation of programs to improve safety, quality, on-time delivery, cost reduction, and employee development. This position reports directly to the Director of the Peerless Business Unit and will operate on a fully onsite schedule out of the Willowbrook Park Drive, Houston TX facility.

Please note that relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must have the authorization to work in the USA without support.

Your main responsibilities :

  • Promote a safe working environment and ensure through on-going training that employees actively place safety as their top priority.

  • Champion 5S and Lean Approaches to Production.

  • Work with corporate EHS to maintain and update EHS requirements that oversee local ISO 45001 and 18001 standards.

  • Manage all ISO Quality related documentation and administration as it pertains to the production/testing environment and associated processes and manage the facility and equipment maintenance.

  • Help develop and executive a detailed production schedule for the production facility.

  • Develop and work with others to create ways of improving product quality while developing and implement changes to reduce production cost.

  • Lead the Environment, Health and Safety local function and coordinate local compliance in conjunction with corporate level administration.

  • Be a leaser in the development of teamwork both within the manager’s area of responsibility and within the overall organization.

  • Help establish work practices that minimize the environmental impact of the processes associated with the department, reduce the consumption of resources, and reduce the waste stream.

Your Background:

We imagine that you have:

  • A degree is preferred but experience will be considered in lieu of degree.

  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience of supervisory experience in a Manufacturing or Production controlled environment is required.

  • Demonstrated experience in reducing accidents.

  • Knowledge of JIT, Kanban, and other materials management concepts to reduce inventory and cycle times.

  • Experience with disciplined problem solving and the demonstrated ability to apply this knowledge in new situations.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage multiple, divergent priorities and work independently.

  • An understanding of technical issues to the extent that production problems can be understood, solved, or addressed.

  • Have a strong commitment to train employees in both hard and soft skills.

  • Previous experience with account relationship and account management skills.

  • Ability to work 5 days a week onsite in our Willowbrook (Houston TX) facility.
