Robert Half Controller in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota

Description We are offering an opportunity for a Controller in the construction industry, based in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. This role involves managing various accounting functions, establishing external relationships, and ensuring a balance between work and personal commitments.

Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day accounting duties within the construction industry

• Establish and maintain external relationships relevant to the business operations

• Report directly to the CFO and oversee a team of 2, ensuring efficient workflow and team collaboration

• Handle corporate and transactional accounting, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported

• Ensure flexibility in work schedules and maintain a healthy work/life balance for the team

• Oversee the execution of accounting functions including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Auditing, and Payroll

• Manage job cost analysis and budget processes to ensure financial efficiency

• Maintain adherence to GAAP Accounting principles

• Manage and oversee full cycle accounting processes

• Handle corporate accounting, ensuring all corporate financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Controller role within the construction/contractor industry

• Proficiency in Accounting Functions, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Auditing, Budget Processes, Payroll, and Job Cost

• Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP Accounting

• Experience with Full Cycle Accounting in a corporate setting

• Demonstrable expertise in managing corporate accounting

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required

• CPA certification is highly desirable

• Excellent communication, leadership, and strategic planning skills

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities

• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Ability to manage and meet deadlines.
