Wage: Starting $17.50 Shift: M-F Hours to be determined BGC: Yes DT: Yes Full Job Description Purpose/Summary: Lapham-Hickey Steel is looking for someone who is forward thinking along with strong organization skills to ensure the department is in a continuous improvement mode. Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for creating drawing files per customer specification. Then importing them into the nesting software. Maintain the department databases to current revisions and in a consistent manner. Reviews drawings and nesting models then determines adjustments for improving yields, through put and margins. Nest customer orders onto material, maximizing material utilization, reducing scrap. Verify allocations material to correct master. Always applying aged inventory or drops first. Track monthly laser/plasma/oxy-fuel scrap rates. Manage all nest packages, minimizing scrap and maximizing efficiencies. Works closely with operators, maintenance and quality to improve cutting performance. Works with sales in the development of the quotes using programming methods. Implementing and troubleshooting hardware and software. Communicate effectively through written and verbal communication. Wears approved personal protective equipment such as safety glasses as needed. Performs other duties as assigned by a supervisor or management Key member of the plate processing team Implementing and troubleshooting Pronest software, including beveling and true hole . Implement and utilize our BySoft laser nesting program.
