Medical Mutual of Ohio Regulatory Attorney in Brooklyn, Ohio

Medical Mutual is seeking a talented Regulatory Attorney to join our dynamic organization. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team that provides exceptional legal counsel and support. As a Regulatory Attorney at Medical Mutual, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and providing expert legal advice. You will work closely with various departments to support our mission of delivering high-quality healthcare services. The role is hybrid and location is Medical Mutual’s Brooklyn, OH headquarters.

Responsibilities

Level I Responsibilities: Identifies and analyzes legal issues, assesses risk, and provides recommendations and counsel to executive staff and management. Negotiates on behalf of the corporation in various settings and develops standard documents and procedures to protect the corporation and minimize risks.

Level II Responsibilities: Similar to Level I, but also includes the development of compliance guidelines for relevant laws and regulations. Provides legal advice to specific departments or as a subject matter expert.

Level III Responsibilities: Works independently to identify and analyze legal issues, assess risk, and provide recommendations and counsel. Develops standard documents and compliance guidelines and negotiates on behalf of the corporation.

Qualifications

Level I Requirements: Requires a J.D. degree, 3 years of legal experience, and admission to practice law in Ohio. Must have the ability to research and apply legal principles, solve problems, and occasionally travel to offsite locations.

Level II Requirements: Requires a Juris Doctor degree, 5 years of legal experience, and admission to practice law in Ohio. Experience in employee law is a plus. Must have the ability to research and apply legal principles, solve problems, and occasionally travel to offsite locations.

Level III Requirements: Requires a J.D. degree, at least 8 years of legal experience, and admission to practice law in Ohio. Experience in healthcare or insurance law, and law firm experience are a plus. Must have the ability to research and apply legal principles, solve problems, and occasionally travel to offsite locations.
