Position Summary

A key member of the Prose Production organization, the Production Supervisor is responsible for coordinating production operations in an assigned area including manufacturing, shipping and scheduling. He or she will execute the role through effectively planning and scheduling production, setting team goals and the implementation and execution of process improvement projects.

The Production Supervisor employs exceptional communication and leadership skills to guide the production team(s) as they safely and efficiently meet or exceed the established Production goals. As a member of the factory leadership team, the Production Supervisor is also responsible for evaluating opportunities to improve overall facility performance.

The Production Supervisor reports to the Production Manager and will have a team of 10-25 manufacturing associates reporting directly to them. Salary range for this role is $70,000 to $80,000 annually. This role is for the 3pm to 11:30pm shift.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead a team of production operators, providing direction, support, and training as needed.

  • Schedule and assign tasks to ensure smooth production flow and meet production targets.

  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.

  • Oversee daily production operations, ensuring adherence to production schedules, quality standards and timelines.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or bottlenecks that arise during production.

  • Conduct regular inspections and tests to verify product quality and consistency and implement corrective actions for any deviations from quality standards.

  • Ensure adherence to cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) OSHA, ISO 27716 standards and FDA guidelines.

  • Maintain accurate production records, including batch records, inventory levels, and equipment maintenance logs.

  • Assure high quality output from production associates by tracking quality metrics of team members and driving quality first mentality.

  • Communicate and oversee the daily production plan.

  • Ensure communication with team members of any new or unexpected production items, such as an inventory issue or process changes.

  • Provide feedback to broader manufacturing team (process, quality, production manager) on what is working and what needs improvement on the production floor.

  • Collaborate with peers on initiatives and events to boost morale and empower team members.

  • Manage timecards of team members and assist with payroll and PTO approval.

  • Work cross-functionally with customer support, technical team, and throughout operations team to troubleshoot issues as they arise.

  • Facilitate and assist with training of new hires, ensuring all new hires have support and resources to on-board successfully.

  • Manage additional tasks assigned to you.

Key Candidate Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field (or equivalent experience) preferred.

  • Proven experience in a manufacturing supervisory role, preferably in the skincare or cosmetic industry.

  • Strong knowledge of production processes, quality control, and regulatory compliance.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • Familiarity with ERP systems and production management software.
