Graduate Admissions Advisor (CUNY ONLY) (2 Positions)
POSITION DETAILS
Brooklyn College seeks two Admissions Advisors to process graduate applications and assist with admissions activities. Reporting to the Director of Graduate Admissions the Admissions Advisor's typical responsibilities include open houses, information sessions, recruitment events and communications. Travel during peak recruitment periods is required for locations outside of New York City or New York State.
In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, duties include but are not limited to:
Assists with graduate student admissions activities, including participation in virtual, and on- and off-campus recruitment events to meet College enrollment goals. Provide customer service, outreach and follow-up, in-person, by email, text and phone.
Coordinates communication on Brooklyn College's admissions social media outlets. Assist with the creation of relevant campaigns and engages the target audience. Support the production of promotional materials.
Seek and retain knowledge of best industry practices in graduate admissions and recruitment and apply this knowledge to everyday duties.
Processing graduate applications and data clean up, such as GPA calculations, residency updates, academic history updates, CUNYfirst updates, etc.
Assist with special projects and reports as directed by the Director of Graduate Admissions as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree required.
Preferred Qualifications:
One year of experience in an Admissions office or Enrollment setting
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Possess a sensitivity to the needs of a diverse campus population.
Possess excellent organizational and time management skills.
Experience using Hobsons Connect, ApplyYourself, and/or other higher education industry admissions and recruiting systems/tools.
Familiarity with PeopleSoft and/or CUNYfirst, along and the aptitude to learn new systems.
Flexibility to work evening and weekend hours as needed.
Demonstrates communication skills, writing and public speaking ability, exemplary customer service skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with key constituents and prospects.
Experience with events and local or regional travel planning.
Knowledge of trends and best practices in the field of admissions, recruitment or enrollment management in general.
Ability to present this information to prospective students in all formats.
Experience with social media outlets in regard to use in recruitment (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram).
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and be a proactive member of the admissions team.
A valid driver's license preferred.

Conducts open house sessions and orientations to ensure applicants are fully informed of requirements and processes
Assists in direct recruiting at high schools, community outreach events, and other appropriate locations
Provides general information on programs and services in person or by telephone, email, or letter
Maintains current information about College programs and degree requirements
Performs related duties as assigned

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
$44,411 - $49,960; Salary commensurate with education and experience.
