JPMorgan Chase Associate - Recovery & Resolution Planning Brooklyn, New York

The Commercial & Investment Banking (CIB) Resolution and Recovery (R&R) Team is seeking a dynamic team member to join a high-performing team responsible for the governance, oversight and effective implementation of Commercial & Investment Banking-related resolution and recovery deliverables, which form part of the firm's global R&R submissions to the U.S. regulators. In addition, the Team coordinates across Commercial & Investment Banking stakeholders to prepare ad hoc responses to regulatory requests. Commercial & Investment Banking R&R partners extensively with Commercial & Investment Banking sub-lines of business and other functional areas to oversee, control, and deliver on the R&R program of work. The Associate will primarily focus on supporting Recovery Plan deliverables.

As an Associate within the Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) Risk and Recovery (R&R) Project Management Office (PMO) team, you will have the opportunity to work with a motivated team, leading and supporting the engagement of subject matter experts in the line of business. Your initial focus will be on supporting Recovery Plan deliverables, including the annual review of Corporate and Investment Banking recovery actions. You will collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders in a dynamic environment, gaining high visibility across the Corporate and Investment Banking organization and exposure to senior business leads.

Job responsibilities

  • Coordinate among subject matter experts (SMEs) in the line of business and support functions that are involved in the production of the CIB deliverables, including annual review of CIB Recovery actions (qualitative / quantitative assessments; testing of actions; tabletop exercises)

  • Develop and implement a BAU operating model for Plan submissions. Establish metrics and monitor progress of R&R deliverables. Refine the governance and escalation framework.

  • Develop a solid understanding of relevant regulations as well as CIB R&R's processes and work products in order to provide guidance to SMEs to complete assigned deliverables

  • Track and report status of deliverables to support timely completion and escalation of issues

  • Develop materials for presentations & meeting minutes to the CIB R&R Lead and senior management governance forums

  • Develop a deep understanding of Recovery planning processes, with focus on CIB deliverables, including becoming familiar with CIB inputs and identify areas of enhancement, liaising with CIB and other stakeholders to identify inconsistencies or improvements across the plans, and partnering with CIB Treasury to deliver quantitative analysis.

  • Provide guidance to stakeholders when local regulatory requests arise related to Resolution and Recovery planning.

  • Lead ad hoc meetings with key stakeholders to drive forward the CIB R&R agenda.

  • Update CIB R&R policy and procedure documents

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Business / Finance

  • 3+ years of experience in the financial industry

  • 1+ years of project management experience

  • Experience communicating across cross-functional groups; strong written & oral communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail and interpersonal skills with the ability to foster a sense of teamwork

  • Self-starter: Strong degree of self-reliance, initiative and ability to work autonomously

  • Drive and adhere to deadlines, with the ability to deliver in a timely matter.

  • General product and business knowledge, coupled with an understanding of the business organization

  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Excel / PowerPoint / Word), Teams and SharePoint

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • General CIB product and business knowledge, coupled with an understanding of the business organization.

  • Project management experience specifically in regulatory, and/or Recovery & Resolution Planning

  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, ability to synthesize data from many sources, design and draw persuasive conclusions for plans and presentation to CIB and firmwide executive management

  • Understanding of Capital and Liquidity Management, RWA, Leverage Exposures

  • Quantitative modeling skills (e.g., Stress Testing, CCAR experience, etc.)

  • Knowledge of Workiva
