Brooklyn College of the City University of New York (CUNY) invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Department of School Psychology, Counseling, and Leadership; M.Sc. Program in Educational Leadership with a starting date in August 2024.

Housed within the School of Education and the Department of School Psychology, Counseling and Leadership, the Educational Leadership program prepares students as professionals to support children’s and adolescents’ development in schools and diverse community settings. Embracing advocacy as a professional ethos, students will promote learning and healthy outcomes for individuals, families, and school communities. Our curriculum is uniquely structured in both scope and sequence to combine small-group, cohort-based colloquiums with content in management and instructional leadership along with a comprehensive fieldwork experience.

The successful candidate is expected to serve as Program Head as well as teach graduate level educational leadership courses; supervise students in field experiences; advise and mentor students; pursue an active scholarship and a research agenda; participate in curriculum, program development, and accreditation; collaborate with school and agency partners; participate in public and professional activities in the field of educational leadership; and serve on department, school and university committees. Candidates with a demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusiveness through their research, teaching and/or service are encouraged to apply.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum

• Ph.D or Ed.D in Educational and Organizational Leadership from an accredited institution

• Successful experience teaching graduate courses in educational leadership

• Experience directing a New York State or similar state-registered educational leadership program

• Familiarity with AAQEP accreditation processes

• Successful publication record in the area of qualitative and/or quantitative research

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a principal/head of school or division is required.

Preferred

• At least 3 years teaching experience in a New York City Public School

• Private school leadership experience

COMPENSATION

$72,667 - $93,134; Salary commensurate with education and experience.
