[ELEMENTARY CHRISTIAN EDUCATION WORKER [Planning/Job Summary: ]{gentium="" basic""=""}]{gentium="" basic""=""}

1. The Purpose of the Elementary Christian Education Worker is to provide children in kindergarten - 5 th grade opportunity to grow as disciples of Jesus Christ and to serve others in Christs name.
2. The Elementary Christian Education Worker will oversee and direct all aspects of the Wednesday After School programming (which will include childcare after Wednesday After School programming) as well as Wednesday School and Family Events.
3. Part Time: 6-8 hours per week. Starting pay: $15 - $18 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.
4. Reports to the Education Coordinator.

1. Develop and implement a Wednesday afternoon (after school) and Wednesday School (evening) program for children in kindergarten - 6 th grade and family events.
2. Identify church members to assist in the completion of Wednesday activities
3. Recruit, and train volunteers for successful completion of programming
4. Maintain open lines of communication with parents, supervisor and church family.
5. Other duties as assigned.

1. Member of Education Committee
2. Will collaborate with the Education Coordinator for programming needs
3. Coordinate with Education Coordinator to adhere to First United Methodist Churchs Child and Youth Safe Sanctuary Policy.

[Qualifications: ]{gentium="" basic""=""}

1. Available to work Wednesday afternoons and evenings.
2. 2 years post-secondary education or equivalent combination of education or experience.
3. Committed to the Christian faith within the UMC ethos.
4. A sense of a call and passion for working with children.
5. Must be responsible, reliable, and self-directing
6. Complete a background check that meets the Child and Youth Protection Policy
