For the complete job description and how to apply, please visit: https://brookings.or.us/Jobs.aspx REQUIREMENTS: * Five years of increasingly responsible public works or construction business experience and training including at least two years of inspection responsibility; or any satisfactory combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge, skills and ability to perform the described duties. * High school graduate or equivalency; preference given to Associates\' Degree in related field. * Possession of a valid driver\'s license The following Certifications are required of this position: (possess or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire) BO-Building Official OIC-OR Inspector Certification CAP-Residential Plumbing Inspector CAS-Residential Structural Inspector (ICC B1) CAX-Residential Plans Examiner (ICC R3) The following Certifications are required within 12 months of hire date: SIA-Structural Inspector A-Level (ICC B2) PEA-Plans Examiner A-Level (ICC B3) MIA-Mechanical Inspector A-Level (ICC M2) PEF-Fire and Life Safety Plans Examiner (ICC F3) **If certification is obtained through an ICC Nationally recognized course, it must be converted to Oregon using Form 5116 and paying fee to OR. Additional Preferred Certifications: CAE-Oregon Residential Electrical Inspector Certification SEI-Oregon Specialized Inspector Certification CAP-Oregon Residential Plumbing Inspector Certification 01.2024 SPI-Specialized Plumbing Inspector Certification JOB DUTIES: * Reviews applications and/ or plans for proposed construction for compliance with building codes, fire codes, and the Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance. * Conducts field inspections of building construction for compliance with applicable Codes. * Maintains necessary records relating to building permits, plans, and related documents. * Responds to inquiries from Federal, State, and local agencies, City staff and the public. * Investigates and resolves violations and complaints relating to Building Codes and the Nuisance Ordinance. * Manages construction projects on City property. * Assists Public Works staff with infrastructure inspections. * Calculates System Development Charges. Reviews water and sewer service requests and generates work orders for Public Works staff. * Assigns addresses. HOURS: Full Time - Days PAY: \$5,286 - \$7,082 Per Month WORKSITE: Brookings, Oregon
