Imperial Electronic Assembly, Inc. Electro-Mechanical Assembly Group Leader in Brookfield, Connecticut

*POSITION PURPOSE: *

  • To direct the daily activities of the Electro-Mechanical Assembly Department to achieve customer delivery requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops, reports, and statuses departmental goals in keeping with the Companys long and short-term plans.
  • Coordinates the production schedules of electro-mechanical assembly products.
  • Reviews and adjusts resources as needed to assure product delivery meets customer expectations.
  • Sets up jobs and assigns work to assemblers.
  • Coordinates electro-mechanical assembly activities with Cable and Harness, Inspection, and Test Departments to ensure customer product delivery dates are met.
  • Performs necessary supervisory duties of assembly staff including but not limited to: performance review/ performance improvement recommendations; training; disciplinary actions; etc.
  • Assures that the Electro-Mechanical Assembly Department is in compliance with the Companys Quality System.
  • Participates in internal and external quality system audits as needed.
  • Analyzes departmental processes and makes process improvement recommendations.
  • Works with other departments to expedite and resolve problems to ensure customer product delivery dates are met.
  • Performs any and all assembly requirements in the Electro-Mechanical Assembly Department.
  • Assures that all assembly equipment is properly maintained.
  • Maintains an organized and neat work area.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum: Three (3) years experience as an Electro-Mechanical Assembler or related experience in an electronic contract manufacturing organization, electronic high-tech or related industry.
  • Preferred: Three (3) years experience as an Electro-Mechanical Assembler or related experience and two (2) years experience as an Electro-Mechanical Assembly Group Leader in an electronic contract manufacturing organization, electronic high-tech or related industry.
  • Diploma or GED from an accredited high school or technical school.

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Able to read complicated schematics and electronic assembly drawings.

Able to identify electronic components and parts.

Excellent trouble shooting skills. Must be able to trouble shoot to the component level.
