Aerotek Entry-Level Field Technician in Brook, Indiana

The job of an Entry-level field Technician involves maintaining and operating landfill gas collection systems, which requires them to check the wells and pumps and ensure they are functioning correctly. They will use hand and power tools for maintenance purposes and document their findings on a laptop provided by the company. The position offers hourly pay and benefits such as a company vehicle, gas card, cell phone, laptop, and company uniforms.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain gas collection system to meet performance standards through timely and cost-effective operations and maintenance.

  • Perform monthly monitoring of the wellfield, including liquid level measurements in gas extraction wells and monitoring perimeter probes for surface emissions.

  • Conduct routine maintenance activities, such as cleaning and maintenance of pneumatic pumps, HDPE pipe welding, blower/flare operations, and condensate management system maintenance.

  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety standards by participating in regular meetings and developing/maintaining operating records. Report field conditions and test results to the supervisor and, in some instances, the client.

Qualifications:

  • No experience is required, however related experience is preferred. Related experience is mechanical, construction, environmental, or solid waste field experience.

  • Mechanical or construction knowledge is preferred.

  • Willing to meet physical requirements for driving (pick-up truck), walking inspection of improved and unimproved property, lifting, and carrying equipment/mechanical components (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), hand excavation/digging (using shovels/picks), carrying and climbing ladders, operating and working from man lifts, operating electric tools (drills, saws, etc.), using hand tools (screwdrivers, wrenches, hammers, etc.) and providing services under varying weather conditions.

Work Environment/Shift:

  • This position requires you to work onsite at a landfill that is a 24/7 operation

  • Must be able to work outdoors for 8+ hours

  • Shift: Once trained, you’ll rotate shifts every few months. The majority of the time you'll be working on the 1st shift.

  • 1st shift M-F 7-3:30

  • 2nd shift M-F 3:00-11

  • 3rd shift M-F 11-7

  • PPE Requirements: Steel-toed boots
