Position Summary:
The Postdoctoral Research Associate will perform research tasks related to the NSF -funded project “Genomic basis of ecosystem adaptation in rice,” in collaboration with Michael Purugganan at New York University ( NYU ) and Amelia Henry at the International Rice Research Institute ( IRRI ). This work will include population and evolutionary genomic analyses of local varieties of rice grown experimentally under different conditions. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will also conduct research projects on related topics.
Essential Functions:
Conducts data analysis, visualization and interpretation, including analysis of genomic and phenotypic data.
Helps write and prepare manuscripts for publication.
Helps manage the operation of the lab and maintains a safe and productive environment.
Conducts research as part of a collaborative team.
Helps guide and mentor graduate and undergraduate students.
Required Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in ecology, evolution, genetics or a related field, and knowledge of all of these subject areas, particularly evolutionary ecology
Minimum Salary: $64,000
Maximum Salary: $65,000
