New York Edge Data Analyst in Bronx, New York

Summary:

New York Edge is seeking a Data Analyst who will be responsible for all data entry at the site level for a particular program. The data analyst is responsible for gathering, analyzing, and reporting data trends to support and enhance college and career readiness programs at New York Edge. This role involves working closely with the program leadership and site staff to provide data-driven insights that inform decision-making and improve program outcomes.

The data analyst will play a critical role in assisting the director of college and career readiness and New York Edge in running reports and tracking data which details the programs successes, highlights and deficits.

Job Type:

Part-Time

Schedule:

Up to 20 hours a week, Monday - Friday

Pay:

$25-$35/hr (pay offered is commensurate with experience, education and credentials)

Primary Job Functions:

  1. Data Collection and Management:
  • Implement a robust data management system (e.g., a centralized database or CRM system) to track student participation, attendance, and program outcomes.

  • Collect and compile data from various sources, including student performance records, attendance reports, and program participation data.

  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data by performing regular data validation and quality checks.

  • Maintain and update databases and data systems as necessary.

  • Enroll all participants into required web-based databases in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Set up class rosters and maintain attendance sheets

  • Record attendance on a weekly basis into all required systems

    1. Data Analysis:
  • Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can inform program development and improvement.

  • Utilize statistical techniques and software tools to interpret data and generate reports.

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis to assess the effectiveness of the New York Edge college and career readiness programs.

    1. Reporting:
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations that clearly communicate data findings to program leadership.

  • Develop dashboards and visualizations to support data interpretation and decision-making.

  • Provide regular updates on key performance indicators (KPIs) and other metrics related to college and career readiness programs.

    1. Collaboration:
  • Work collaboratively with program leadership and site directors to understand data needs and objectives.

  • Participate in weekly meetings and discussions to present data insights and support strategic planning.

  • Offer training and support to staff on data-related tools and best practices.

  • Be aware of the mission of New York Edge, goals and requirements of each program, and work amongst an interdisciplinary team to ensure they are achieved.

    1. Continuous Improvement:
  • Attend all required DYCD and internal New York Edge training.

  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in data analysis and educational program evaluation.

  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance data collection, analysis, and reporting.

    1. Compliance and Confidentiality:
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant data privacy and protection regulations.

  • Handle sensitive data with the highest level of confidentiality and integrity.

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, time management and follow up skills

  • Knowledge of educational programs and metrics is a plus.

  • Multitask and manage workflow in a fast paced environment

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with program

  • Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Salesforce, DYCD Connect.

    Required Experience:

  • Some college required.

  • Use of online databases such as DYCD Connect, prior experience with Salesforce is a plus

  • 1-2 years of database experience

    Dual Reporting Role: Reports to New York Edge Data Department and High School Program Manager/ Director.

    Interacts with: Director of College and Career Readiness, Site Directors, Data Manager, Students, Teachers and School Administration.
