Yeshiva University Assistant Dean and Professor and Program Director, Physician Assistant Studies P in Bronx, New York

Position Summary:

Yeshiva University's Katz School seeks a dynamic director to serve as academic and administrative lead for its graduate Physician Assistant studies program. The director will be responsible for all Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) activities and for developing, implementing, administering and evaluating the overall effectiveness of the program. The program director will provide transformative direction and oversight with a commitment to excellence in teaching, clinical practice, research and community. The position may be eligible for a senior clinical appointment or tenure depending on experience and qualifications. depending on experience and qualifications.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leading faculty recruitment, hiring, development, evaluation, and tenure support, and creating a culture of collegiality and shared governance.
  • Overseeing curriculum development, assessment, and continuous programmatic review and analysis.
  • Overseeing program accreditation, academic and clinical policies, and assessment with commitment to continuous program improvement.
  • Being knowledgeable and responsible for: program organization, program administration, fiscal management of the program,
    continuous programmatic review and analysis, program planning, program development, completion of ARC-PA required documents, and
    adherence to the Standards and ARC-PA policies.
  • Teaching didactic and clinical year students in both lectures and laboratories.
  • Overseeing student recruitment and selection.
  • Ensuring student academic and professional success.
  • Teaming with Administrators and Faculty of other Yeshiva University Health Professional Programs to identify synergistic strategies and shared goals.
  • Establishing partnerships with local, regional, national, and international health and community organizations
  • Developing grants, contracts, philanthropy, and research development.
  • Managing budgets and resources.

Experience & Educational Background:

  • Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited PA Program; Master's degree required (MS, MPA, MPH),
  • Doctoral degree preferred (EdD, DMSc, or PhD)
  • Current NCCPA Certification
  • New York State License or eligibility for a NY License as a Physician Assistant
  • Minimum 5 years of clinical experience at time of appointment
  • Minimum 5 years of teaching experience at time of appointment
  • Experience in academic administration, health professions teaching, and faculty development; program planning and implementation, assessment /continuous improvement, personnel management, shared governance, and budgeting
  • Distinguished record of clinical accomplishment, contributions to practice/treatment, grant development, and some publication;

Skills & Competencies:

  • Vision and commitment to enhance the visibility, reputation, and community contributions of the Physician Assistant program;
  • Excellence in teaching and graduate student mentorship; and
  • Exceptional writing and presentation skills.

Salary Range:

$220,000 - $220,000
