Nestle Operational Buyer / Materials Planner in Broadford, Australia

We have a very exciting opportunity for an Operations Buyer / Materials Planner to join our team at the Allen’s Broadford Factory.

This role ensures availability of materials to fulfil the requirements of the production plans within the agreed cost boundaries. The successful person will work within a dynamic environment, enjoy high visibility of the role, and overcome the challenges associated with managing the Confectionary portfolio.

A day in the life…

Reporting to the Factory Supply Chain Manager, your role is to ensure supply by coordinating the end to end purchasing of materials.

You will work closely with the Factory Management and applications group as well as Master Production Scheduling Planner to achieve optimum results. Key Responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing and co-ordinating the purchasing of raw and packing materials to support the production plan

  • Communicate requirements through to vendors and provide accurate and timely vendor schedules to suppliers and maintain materials & delivery Non-Conformances.

  • Ensuring service level agreements are consistently met

  • Ensuring that our purchasing disciplines and policies are enforced

  • Respond to any shortfalls by sourcing from external suppliers as required

  • Ensure lowest possible cost is achieved through optimal lot sizes.

  • Managing supplier files, price records, maintain inventory policies and manage purchase requisitions to purchase orders

  • Ensure reviews are conducted and all changes to documentation are promptly implemented.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory authorities and the company’s Safety, Health & Environment (SH&E), Quality and Procedures and policies. Identify, control and eliminate hazards.

  • Ensure high standards of housekeeping are maintained.

  • Actively support and participate in Safety, Health and Environment, Food Safety and Quality improvement activities and projects.

What will make you successful

  • Joining a collaborative team, you will be self-motivated, proactive and have a proven capacity to work effectively within a team environment.

  • You will have minimum 1-2 years’ operations experience in similar role ideally within the FMCG industry.

  • Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Commerce, Marketing, IT, or a related field is preferred.

  • Advanced SAP systems experience will be highly desirable.

  • Solution focused and pro-active attitude and high attention to detail.

  • Clear and effective communication skills are essential.

  • Experience in stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.

  • The right person must be proactive, thorough, and detailed, with a high level of relationship building.
