Resideo Firmware Test Engineer in BRNO MĚSTO, Czech Republic

We are seeking a skilled Firmware Test Engineer to join our Development Department. In this role you will play a key role in testing new products, components and managing the laboratory environment. Your contributions will directly impact the enhancement of existing Resideo water products as well as heating and cooling systems.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Understand and review requirements, execute tests and report test progress.

  • Create and execute manual and automated test cases.

  • Perform functional, application, regression and ad-hoc tests.

  • Investigate and troubleshoot issues to determine root cause.

  • Report issues that are clear, concise and in a timely manner to the development team(s).

  • Responsibly estimate task duration and keep negotiated schedules.

  • Responsible for quality of deliverables (NPI, VE, field issues etc.) whilst using best practices.

  • Ensure compliance with legislative and product requirements.

  • Foster and develop technical skills and knowledge.

  • Provide inputs for project planning and capacity monitoring.

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Experience with SW testing.

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or electrical engineering.

  • Basic knowledge of scripting language(s) like Python or C#.

  • Valid professional qualification in electrical engineering in accordance with Act No. 250/2021 Coll. and Decree No. 194/2022 Coll – (formerly "Decree 50“)

  • Knowledge of embedded systems, IoT and basics of electronics (DVM, oscilloscope, RS-232, protocol parsers, administration of routers etc.).

  • Knowledge of various test methodologies and frameworks.

  • Knowledge of bug reporting and supportive tools (JIRA, JAMA/Contour, .SVN or equivalent).

  • Documentation experience.
