How will you make an impact:
As a Transportation Analyst in the Materials & Structural Analysis division (MSD), your role will involve providing support to supply chain functions by analyzing and optimizing transportation processes and networks. Working closely with the Global Transportation Manager, you will be responsible for tasks such as transportation reporting, network optimization, warehouse analyses, and providing support in contract negotiations. Additionally, you will collaborate with forwarders and parcel providers to address improvement actions. What will you do:
Oversee the reporting of transportation metrics related to service, quality, and spend, ensuring accurate and timely information.
Analyze and implement best practices in transportation to optimize supply chain operations and enhance customer satisfaction.
Conduct quantitative analysis to address challenges, overcome constraints, and measure the impact of project initiatives, such as transport planning, carrier allocation, and consolidation.
Execute quantitative analysis to solve problems and overcome constraints.
Perform transportation network optimization studies.
Prepare budget analysis and provide monthly reporting on financial metrics related to transportation operations.
Evaluate transportation carriers based on their capabilities, service levels, and cost-effectiveness to ensure optimal carrier selection and performance.
Collaborate with third-party freight payment companies to streamline transportation payment processes and ensure accurate and timely payment to carriers.
Provide support in resolving operational transportation issues, applying structural problem-solving techniques to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
What we expect from you:
Ideally, 1-3 years of experience in a logistics department within a manufacturing environment or at a logistics service provider.
Knowledge of transportation modes, regulations, compliance requirements, and safety standards
Understanding of logistics and supply chain management and optimization principles
Understanding of international trade (e.g. Incoterms) and customs regulations
Awareness of environmental sustainability practices
A bachelor's or master's degree (or equivalent) in a business-related field, such as logistics, supply chain, business administration, or business analytics, is required.
Analytical, critical thinking, problem solving skills
Good communication skills and project management skills
