Systems Design Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Knowledge of methods, techniques and processes with emphasis on practical, applied knowledge using known policies, methods and practices.

• Owner of a module, specifies own tasks.

• Results are monitored by manager, failure to achieve objectives will cause delays in schedules.

• Builds productive internal/external working relationships.

• Works on diverse objectives & problems of a moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.

• Interactions are with peers & networking with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise. Responsible to meet objectives based on policies & subject to managerial review.

• Authority is to act within defined policies within the area of expertise/knowledge under management direction.

• Applies company policies & procedures as well as good judgment and thinking to develop solutions to problems.

• Acts as an advisor to peers & project resources to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems.

• Define and complete test plans and methods of new complex hardware/software components, and compile results in document.

• Implements development task and work packages within the PMP project.

• Provide recommendations during the specification and design phase of new products.

• Communicate frequently with project leaders on progress, technical issues and suggest alternative solutions. Also frequently communicates with OE and manufacturing project members to provide them with necessary input.

• Take responsibility for the safety around the design and designated prototype/ system setups.

• Sets up training and coordinates/trains Manufacturing, Sustaining Products and Service personnel in new product build, test, install and repair procedures. May develop solving procedures.

• Supports factory and field service engineers with first builds, installs and upgrades of newly introduced systems and modules to ensure proper working order. This may require travel to various customer locations worldwide to support installations and upgrades.

• Leads multi-functional and cross-site improvement projects for products and processes. Sets goals for ongoing projects.

• Gives input for ongoing training for factory and field service engineers.

• May recommendations or implement engineering changes to support factory and service as needed.

Requirements:

• Technical/Scientific master’s degree (Physics, Physical Engineering, Electronics, Mathematics, Biophysics, Biomedicine, Chemistry, IT or similar).

• English for daily job communication.

• Logical reasoning and conceptual thinking. Enthusiasm, passion for technology, positive attitude.

• Basic programming/scripting skill, knowledge of Python is an advantage.
