Vail Resorts Analyst, Infrastructure - Cloud/Automation/Endpoint in British Columbia

Job Summary:

We are searching for an Infrastructure subject matter expert with enterprise experience in Cloud, Infrastructure, Automation, Citrix and Endpoints to join the Enterprise Platform Services team within the Core Infrastructure organization.

Responsibilities include providing technical solutions within IT infrastructure and our business partners for overall projects and initiatives. You will be expected to develop and implement within strict timeframes while driving standards, developing roadmaps and providing direction to meet 2030 company goals within IT. Enforcing best practices overall within the Infrastructure is key meeting compliance and security standards and policies, while enabling the company to provide the experience of a lifetime for our guests. The successful candidate will have a superior, service-oriented approach to infrastructure operations and solid enterprise infrastructure technical experience including architecture, engineering, and cloud deployments.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide support of enterprise objectives while setting the strategy providing subject matter expertise within overall Infrastructure of Vail Resorts processes, tools, and technologies.

  • Provide technical expertise and hands-on remediation for day-to-day Business ss Usual (BAU) activities ensuring innovation and streamlining process and change.

  • Work across IT and the business to set the technical foundations for delivering leading-class services.

  • Design and drive the delivery of the team’s multi-year technology roadmaps ensuring proper documentation and alignment.

  • Partner with business stakeholders and other team members to understand their needs to assess, solution and estimate future work deliverables to then put to plan and execute funding asks or delivery requirements.

  • Provide technical expertise and hands on remediation of day-to-day Business as Usual (BAU) activities ensuring innovation and streamlining process

  • Possess enterprise experience regarding regulatory compliance and including thean expertise in their requirements with the ability to perform and drive resolutions for (PCI/SOX/PPI/etc.).

  • Drive the resolution of daily operational issues, with the ability and experience ensuring root cause is found, and implement process and remediations preventing recurrence.

  • Provide automated solutions within an infrastructure environment while looking at the entire footprint to determine where manual effort reduction opportunities with the ability to drive and implement automated policies and solutions.

  • Ensure all changes in configuration, hardware and software follow the appropriate Change Control process while adhering to all appropriate controls along with providing technical support and expertise as needed.

  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve, implement standards and develop documentation within the Vail Resort’s technology ecosystem while socializing and partnering with other teams and stakeholders.

  • Successfully collaborate with partners across the enterprise to seek opportunities to evolve our technology footprint to support business objectives.

  • Engage and consult directly with managers, developers, project managers, business analysts, business stakeholders, contract developers and vendors and consulting partners on the development and support of projects and enhancements within Vail Resorts. Demonstrate the ability and skills communicating highly technical solutions in clear and simple terms, adapting as needed to ensure understanding as needed from a non-technical audience.

  • Enterprise experience implementing and configuring tools for tracking and automation.

  • Influence by partnering and helping team members and leadership providing proper analysis and risk assessment ensuring understanding and buy-in for consistency and collaboration that will also help with team priorities.

  • Mentor other analysts both inside and outside of the direct team assigned.

  • Demonstrate and drive a positive influence within the broad team showing collaboration and teamwork skills and attitude on a daily basis.

  • Be responsible for driving good and timely decisions to excel at moving the enterprise forward with input and consideration of stakeholders at all times, including the case where there may be an absence of information.

  • Take on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high-energy and enthusiasm.

  • Complete all tasks and work assigned on time and at appropriate quality.

  • Ability and experience to take on L1 through L3 workset as required to keep BAU, Projects and Initiatives moving forward.

  • Listen, take notes, and manage individual follow up actions without prompting.

  • Expectation to own products/workstreams/processes as the primary SME/Architect/Engineer.

  • Experience rive projects and team workstreams and inform leadership as necessary, including risk assessments.

  • Develop a reputation for, and function as the primary expert within Infrastructure areas of technology and process areas.

  • Represent the team in cross-functional projects/efforts.

Job Qualifications:

  • Enterprise Experience in many of the following, but not limited to: Terraform, Microsoft Defender, Citrix, Wyse Terminals, Active Directory, IAM, Jira, Service Now, Change Control, ITIL, Cloud Automation, Cloud (Azure), monitoring, Configuration tools, monitoring, Cloud Experience, End Point Management, Patch Management, Security Best Practices and implementation within Corporate Infrastructure, etc.

  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or a related field. Work experience and/or certifications may substitute for a degree.

  • 10 years’ infrastructure experience, supporting datacenter technologies such as: compute, virtualization, storage, backup, authentication, enterprise networking (route, switch, firewall, etc.), end-user computing, database, container (Kubernetes) or DevOps technologies

  • 2 years’ experience in a team lead role

  • 2 years’ experience with SOX, PCI, HIPAA, or similar compliance requirement

  • 2 years’ experience working on projects in a waterfall/Agile/etc. framework

  • Demonstrated continuous learner

  • Experience working in a production support role

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

  • Relevant certifications are desirable (Azure, AWS, GCP)

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $59,100 - $79,530. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
