Summary The Quality Control Technician I inspects, tests, and releases all at line as well as  finished product testing. The position is responsible for auditing Dunmore's quality functions and processes by performing tests and monitoring adherence to defined Dunmore and/or Dunmore procedures and specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Determines quality requirements by reviewing Sales Order, manufacturing and/or customer specifications; verifying specifications. Working with senior members of QA Department, learn how to operate various equipment in QA Lab with minimal supervision. Verifies in-process product conformance by collecting samples during production process; conducting in-process inspections and physical tests. Analytical tests include but not limited to coat weight, porosity, bond/seal, coating anchorage, ink adhesion, conductive coating, UV light, color standards, and dimensional characteristics.  By informing operations of non-conformance and/or possible deviations from standards, and to assist the correction of these deficiencies. Creates a safe work environment by adopting and following Company safety manual and regulatory requirements; by reinforcing positive safety actions while eliminating unsafe acts/programs; and escalating to management concerns that need attention for the safe working of all associates. Associate responsible for properly disposing of hazardous waste into designated containers. Disposal must be conducted according to state and federal regulations. Associate must receive Dunmore annual hazardous waste training. Contributes to Company effectiveness by identifying and enhancing departmental improvements, by supporting AOP and KPI; providing fact-based information and commentary pertinent to solutions, recommending options and courses of action, and implementing directives. Determines disposition of finished product and incoming raw materials by collecting, classifying, analyzing, and interpreting production and quality data; product acceptability based on customer and/or internal product specification. Maintains quality assurance operations by applying QA expertise in detecting and solving quality problems; meeting or surpassing quality standards; by following quality assurance policies, procedures, and work instructions; utilizing basic math, SPC (statistical process control) and computer data collection systems. Maintains customer records by completing documentation, updating files and appropriate logs, files, spec packets, and quality record keeping standards. Supports operations, customer service, purchasing, and sales by assisting in customer complaint, internal rejection, and vendor rejection investigations, documenting and disseminating information related to quality assurance and control, by providing facts, and suggestions for enhancing customers' satisfaction; by assisting in quality training. Other Duties as needed or required.

Education and Experience A High School diploma or equivalent. Minimum of two (2) years of inspection or Quality Assurance experience in a related business field. Must be able to differentiate between slight color variations and be able to read small print; working in QA Lab and manufacturing areas.
