Job Summary

“Together We Rise”

At our Western Approach site, we specialise in the design and manufacture of large complex structural wing assemblies. As Site Procurement Manager, reporting to the Site Director, you will join the dedicated site Leadership team to deliver best in class aircraft products to our end customers. You will be responsible for all procured goods and services to the Western Approach site in terms of cost, delivery and quality performance.

How You'll Contribute

  • A key member and contributor to the Site Leadership Team

  • Contributing to the Procurement Commodity and Programme strategy, and ensuring its implementation and execution across the site

  • Accountable for the creation and management of Procurement Budget for the site

  • Accountable for developing and executing site cost saving initiatives

  • Accountable for ensuring 100% on time in full delivery from suppliers

  • Accountable for ensuring zero quality defects from suppliers

  • Accountable for the delivery of supplier work transfers and projects associated with the site and Business Line

  • Being the Executive escalation point with the supplier for any issues relating to supplier performance

  • Accountable for the site Raw Material strategy, to ensure inventory is minimised, but with a clear strategy on how and when products are purchased

  • Development and delivery of continuous improvement plans for the Procurement function

  • Accountable for ensuring that regular supplier business reviews are held with all key suppliers

  • Responsible for active Supply Chain risk management

  • Accountable for internal and external customer relationships associated with external supplier performance

  • Role modelling a culture that is aligned to the GKN Aerospace “Great Place to Work” value drivers and cultural principles

What You'll Contribute

To help us make a difference, you will bring your passion and expertise/ talent for what you do along with the following skills, experience, qualifications and attributes:

Essential

  • BSc degree, or equivalent in a Business, Engineering, or Science discipline

  • Minimum of 15 years relevant business experience

  • Minimum of 10 years experience in Procurement, Supply Chain Management or Production Management

  • Previous and significant experience with an international supply base

  • A demonstrated ability to build relationships with a supplier network

  • A demonstrated ability to develop a high performing organisation

  • A track record of leadership to work with cross functional teams

Desirable

  • Strong understanding of the Aerospace industry and associated technological and commercial trends

  • Core competences: Analytical ability, Decisiveness, Customer focus, Planning and organisation, Focus on results

  • Previous working experience with MRP systems e.g. SAP, Baan etc
