At our GKN Filton site, we specialise in the design and manufacture of large complex structural wing assemblies, detailed metallic components and wing systems for a combination of both civil and military aircraft. We have an new exciting and career defining opportunity for a Junior SAP Specialist.

As Junior SAP Specialist, you will act as part of a team developing the skills and knowledge to provide the global SAP ERP business support and utilize best practices around the usage and setup of SAP applications and related solutions in line with the business requirements. The initial focus will be to provide and control the SAP user access and security functions across multiple SAP systems and sites. Working as a member of the Civil SAP CoE team, the SAP Specialist will play a role in ensuring the daily operational tasks are reliably and properly completed to meet the organizational needs. They will work with their SAP CoE colleagues to continuously improve and support the SAP systems within the agreed SLA. The SAP CoE forms part of the wider Civil & Defence IT Digital Office team, and is an integral part of the global IT organisation. You will be a trusted partner to the business in providing SAP ERP applications and solutions in line with the IT operating model, working alongside the IT business partners, project management office, security and IT operations teams.

How You'll Contribute

⦁ Works as part of a global team of SAP subject matter experts to deliver ERP support within agreed SLAs. ⦁ Delivers timely and appropriate on-boarding, off-boarding and changes of SAP users. ⦁ Administers SAP roles and authorization controls in line with approved processes. ⦁ Administer SAP Organisational functionally and controls ⦁ Administer and support the Personnel records (one site only) ⦁ Ensures IT security requirements and segregation of duties are observed and designed into future demand/requirements. ⦁ Follows structured processes and tasks for maximum effectiveness. ⦁ Performs other related duties as assigned by management/team leaders. ⦁ Supports the implementation of global IT standards. ⦁ Be a trusted partner to the business in providing fit for purpose applications and solutions. ⦁ Liaising with external parties (e.g. consultants, software vendors, auditors etc.) where required. ⦁ Tests and verifies system functionality within new and existing systems and solutions working with key stake holders to develop and document test processes and documentation. ⦁ Supports implementation of new solutions, upgrades and/or enhancements to existing ones. ⦁ Supports and work within the change request process. ⦁ Supports integration design, development, and implementation efforts between SAP and other business applications. ⦁ Assists in identifying options for potential solutions and assessing them for both technical and business suitability. ⦁ Ensure the integrity and availability of applications and solutions across the application portfolio. ⦁ Documenting ERP processes and procedures (and maintaining them). ⦁ Ensure tactical requirements are aligned with strategic roadmap. ⦁ Works closely with developers to assist with the application configuration

Desirable: ⦁ Experience working with manufacturing and SAP ERP systems. ⦁ Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field. (or equivalent experience) ⦁ A strong focus on continuous learning and sharing this information with team members. ⦁ Ability to translate the functional and non-functional business requirements into a technical solutions design. ⦁ Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications. ⦁ Understanding and experience working with project management methodologies. ⦁ Understanding of change management methodologies.
