Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated summer intern to join our Immunobiology team. This internship provides an opportunity for a student with little laboratory experience to gain hands-on training in immune cell cancer biology. The intern will be involved in the early stages of immune cancer biology research and will work closely with experienced scientists to support ongoing research efforts aimed at characterizing dendritic cells and their functions, contributing to the broader goal of understanding immune regulation in the tumor microenvironment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the characterization of dendritic cells from different sources (fresh, frozen, and cell line-derived) under the guidance of senior scientists.

• Learn basic laboratory techniques, including mammalian cell culture, flow cytometry, and cell isolation.

• Participate in functional assays to evaluate immune cell activation.

• Record experimental results in an electronic lab notebook and present findings in meetings.

• Collaborate with team members from diverse scientific backgrounds to gain insights into immunology and oncology research.

Qualifications & Experience

• Candidates must be in enrolled in a bachelor's degree program majoring in Biology (e.g. Immunology, Cell Biology), Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biological Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Must have completed 2 years of study towards a bachelor's degree by June 2025

• Candidates should have basic laboratory skills (lab course, academic lab, or industry lab)

• Candidates should have strong communication skills (written and verbal), and the ability to work in a collaborative environment.

• Candidates must be eligible for employment in the United States, and available to work for 10 consecutive weeks beginning in June of 2025

The starting compensation for this job is a range from $21.00/hour - $29.00/hour. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills and the geographic location where work is performed. Final individual compensation is decided commensurate with demonstrated experience and education level.
