Job Description

An employer is looking for a Senior Research Associate, Cell Engineering to join the team. The team's goal is to enable pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies to bring more cell and gene therapies to patients, by dramatically increasing the efficiency of viral vector production and reducing the cost of manufacturing. The team consists of creative bioengineers and synthetic biologists working alongside data scientists to create cutting-edge solutions to problems in gene therapy.

Responsibilities:

• Support scientists with cell line development including cloning, characterization, and cell banking.

• Support the generation and validation of cell lines using tools such as CRISPR, lentivirus, recombinases, and other methods.

• Maintain and optimize mammalian cell culture processes with adherent and suspension systems.

• Document experimental procedures and results for internal and external use.

• Contribute to the writing and maintenance of SOPs.

• Analyze data, interpret results, and present findings to colleagues and stakeholders.

Skills and Requirements

• BS in synthetic biology, molecular biology, bioengineering, cell biology, or related field with 3+ years of wet lab experience in a mammalian biology context, or MS with 2+ years

• Strong CRISPR Cas9 experience

• Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture of both adherent and suspension cell lines

• Experience with cell engineering and stable cell line generation

• Ability to work on multiple projects at a time.

• Comfortable in a pure bench work role - Experience performing viral transductions, flow cytometry, western blotting, and quantitative gene expression analyses

• Familiarity with liquid handling automation systems for mammalian cell culture

• Familiarity with Benchling for documentation and data management null
