Job Summary

The Senior Director of Supply Chain plays a pivotal role in driving strategic initiatives supporting Distech Controls’ accelerated growth driven by international expansion, new vertical market penetration and product vitality. Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, this role is responsible for shaping the strategic direction of the organization’s supply chain, developing solutions for commercial growth, driving margin enhancement, and delivering on key integration business performance metrics. More specifically, this role has responsibility for the sourcing and Integrated Business Planning personnel, and acts as a Supply Chain center of excellence providing recommendations and collaborating with other functions in support of their strategy. They will work in consistency with Acuity Brands’ policies and strategies while building strong relationships across the broader organization.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

• Develop and oversee the vision and execution of a comprehensive sourcing strategic plan which will drive optimal service within Distech Controls’ diverse customer channels. Risk management, cost optimization and product reliability and quality are key aspects of the strategy. This is achieved through extensive market research and includes spend analysis across all business units.

• Partner with the engineering team in the early stages of new product development to identify and engage the best suppliers, ensuring cost-effective sourcing and high-quality inputs for innovative designs.

• Lead the end-to-end Integration Business Planning strategy deployment aligning strategic objectives and operational plans.

• Participate in the design and execution the global footprint strategy to support international expansion efforts.

• Drive the supply chain’s digital transformation. Ensure execution excellence through the implementation of best-in-class processes, systems and tools making supply chain a competitive advantage for Distech Controls.

• Implement the corporate Indirect purchasing policy and provide support to the other functions in finding the best partners and establishing optimal terms and conditions.

• Act as a subject matter expert for strategic projects, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to provide insights, support decision-making and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

• Develop and refine the make or buy strategy, determining the optimal approach for both raw materials and finished goods across all regions. Assess outsourcing opportunities considering factors such as cost, quality, lead times and scalability.

• Provide guidance and recommendations for inventory management, ensuring optimal service level and inventory turns.

• Lead and enable a high-performance team of professionals, inspiring, recruiting, developing and retaining talent, driving accountability for achieving results. Provide guidance and mentoring.

• Establish and maintain a robust system for data collection, analysis, and reporting to ensure data accuracy and integrity across the supply chain. Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor and evaluate supply chain performance.

• Support Distech Controls’ ESG program within the supply chain function.

Skills and Minimum Experience Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain management roles, with demonstrated success in strategic sourcing, integrated business planning and digital transformation initiatives.

  • Experience in the electronics industry.

  • Ability to manage through ambiguity in a fast-paced and matrix environment.

  • Strong leadership skills with experience in leading cross-functional teams and driving change management initiatives.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability build trust and cohesion, and to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Bilingual French and English: To serve clients and external service providers across Canada and USA
