Huron-Clinton Metroparks (Part-Time) Content Creator in Brighton, Michigan

PAY RATE: $16.85/hour (Up to 1,500 hours per year).

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Under the direction of the Chief of Marketing and Communications, position performs a variety of professional and administrative work in support of public relations, communications and marketing. This position is part-time, up to 1500 hours per year.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Promote Metroparks brand and image.

  • Bring strong creativity and innovation to create and manage social media content for the Metroparks

  • Create social media content. This includes writing, proofing and scheduling of posts, reels, videos, stories and more.

  • Review and maintain various social network profiles.

  • Create monthly analytics reports for social media pages.

  • Represent Metroparks brand while responding to social messages, comments and complaints.

  • Collaborate on content creation with multiple departments and outside partners.

  • Operate camera equipment to capture promotional photos and video.

  • Film, edit and manage video content in coordination with multiple departments.

  • Attend park programs, events and activities to capture, create and publish content.

  • May assist with special projects.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Candidates should possess or be working towards a degree in marketing, business, communications, hospitality, tourism, public relations, parks and recreation or a related field

  • Demonstrative experience in social content and/or marketing; or any equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to demonstrate ability to perform the job.

  • Portfolio and/or social content samples preferred to show demonstrative experience.

  • Knowledge of administrative procedures, filing and record management.

  • Ability to utilize computer system to include PowerPoint, word, excel, iPhone, iPad, camera equipment, video editing software and social media scheduling tools.

  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to be organized and prioritize multiple tasks.

  • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with supervisors, co-workers, and the public.

  • Ability to work during standard business hours and report to park locations across our five counties.

  • May be required to adjust schedule to meet organizational needs, including special events, evenings, weekends & holidays.

  • Ability to perform essential duties

TOOLS & EQUIPMENT USED:  iPad, Camera, Personal computer, including PowerPoint, word, excel, social media scheduling program (Hootsuite), Filmora video editing software, Canva, data base software applications; calculator, iphone, copy machine.
