Job Title: Accounting Clerk- Construction Industry Experience Highly Preferred

Job Description

We are seeking a versatile and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our collaborative accounting team. The ideal candidate will manage various administrative and accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in daily operations.

Responsibilities

  • Answering phones and handling administrative tasks.

  • Weekly filing of Accounts Payable (AP) documents.

  • Sorting and managing daily mail.

  • Shredding confidential documents.

  • Handling various paperwork and miscellaneous requests.

  • Sorting and filing electronic invoices received via AP email.

  • Entering invoices into the accounting system.

  • Conducting AP check runs.

  • Recording ACH payments.

  • Reconciling vendor statements.

  • Sending and following up on lien waivers.

  • Sending out and following up on W9s for vendor packs.

  • Filling out credit applications for new vendors.

  • Reviewing vendor lists to ensure receipt of all W9s.

  • Processing 1099s on an annual basis.

  • Emailing statements to customers.

  • Making collection calls for Accounts Receivable (AR) over 60 days.

  • Assisting with billing entry as needed.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and take ownership of assigned projects.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Excellent communication skills and team-oriented mindset.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in the construction industry is strongly preferred, ideally 10 years.

  • Proficiency with Foundation Accounting Software system.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.

Work Environment

The role is based on-site with core working hours from Monday to Friday, 8am-5:30pm, although earlier departures are possible if work is completed. The department consists of three other members, including the Accounting Manager and an AP Specialist. The company employs approximately 200 people, with around 50 working on-site in the office. The organization is family-owned, boasts a close-knit accounting team, and is currently undergoing an office expansion, reflecting continued growth.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.84 - $33.65
