PURPOSE:

The Clerk and Recorder’s Office exists to support and educate our community through prioritizing trust, inclusion, accuracy, and continuous improvement.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR SUCCESS:

The Recording Department is looking for a dedicated, positive candidate with an enthusiasm for customer service and thrives on being part of an incredible team. The Recording Team likes to have fun while maintaining professionalism, accuracy, and efficiency in recording public records.

Examples of Duties for Success

  • Receives direct supervision from Deputy Director of Recording, and/or Recording Tech III.

  • Assists the public in person and over the phone with recording documents, marriage licenses, and general questions.

  • Accepts Passport applications on behalf of the State of Colorado

  • Proficiency in cash management, ensuring correct fees are collected per statutory requirements.

  • Accuracy in data entry and attention to detail is a must.

  • Interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with a team.

  • Assists in other areas of the Clerk and Recorder's office as needed.

  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required.

  • Adaptable to rapidly changing priorities based on workload.

Qualifications for Success

  • Accuracy of data entry procedures, typing ability, and basic math and grammar skills.

  • Knowledge of PC basics and ability to learn proprietary recording systems and processes.

  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

  • Ability to provide excellent customer service calmly and professionally in person and on the telephone.

  • Ability to learn Colorado real property statutes.

  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment.

  • Ability to work extended hours as needed.

  • Establish and maintain positive and harmonious working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

  • Ability to exercise attention to detail in performing assigned tasks.

  • Bilingual Spanish/English is strongly preferred.

More Qualifications for Success

Experience:

  • One (1) year of job experience that includes cashiering, general office work, and customer service.

  • Data entry experience and knowledge of real property statutes, forms and documents are preferred, but not required.

License:

  • Requires a valid Driver’s License at the time of application.

Essential duties require the following physical abilities and work environment:

  • Work is performed in an office environment.

  • Work atmosphere may be noisy and hectic due to constant contact with the public.

  • Must be able to stoop, stand, sit for extended periods, reach overhead, push/pull or handle objects weighing a minimum of 25 pounds.
