Position Summary:
Nestle Health Science is seeking a Sr Specialist Environmental Sustainability to provide accurate, timely, and actionable insights and reporting. This role involves delivering both prescriptive and descriptive analysis to support short and long-term strategies for NHSc US. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in driving sustainability initiatives, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, while thriving in the rapidly evolving sustainability landscape.
This position will be either a remote or hybrid role based on the selected candidate’s geographic location. Preference will be given to applicants who live within a commutable distance of Bridgewater, New Jersey/Tri-State area, Chicago, Illinois, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida and/or within the Long Island, New York areas.
Responsibilities:
Support creation and management of GHG (Green House Gas) emissions, including data collection, emissions factor tracking, verification of reductions, and scenario planning across NHSc US
Support creation and management of EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) reporting, including data collection and validation across SKUs
Support sustainability compliance and audits
Actively engage with and provide educational and competency development to internal technical teams to drive Nestlé’s Net Zero Roadmap and other climate initiatives
Assist Sustainability Sr. Manager in communicating to senior management key trends and performance indicators
Support management of Nestlé Health Sciences’ global sustainability data strategy and ensure alignment across all related systems to support measurement of KPI's while ensuring quality and accuracy of all data
Support management of the collection and organization of GHG & EPR data from internal and external partners while providing ongoing support to address questions and/or resolve discrepancies
Support development, alignment, share-out, and implementation of processes and procedures related to GHG accounting, record-keeping, and related governance
Stay up to date on current and emerging policy and regulatory drivers of GHG emissions disclosure, environmental reporting requirements, and management in North America
Continuously adapting and learning as new legislation is introduced and/or key priorities change
Provide data and software integration guidance from a sustainability perspective to ensure the efficient and effective use of technology across the NHSc technology environment
Provide sustainability guidance to advanced analytics teams to ensure an end-to-end viewpoint for functional (sales, supply chain, marketing, etc.) solutions
Responsible for the creation and maintenance of sustainability maps that visualize observed and calculated critical environmental and sustainability parameters in space
Responsible for the representing the sustainability viewpoint for end-to-end innovation projects to deliver business value
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution; degree focused on Sustainability Management, Environmental Science, Data Management, or a related subject field is preferred
3+ years of professional experience with 1+ year in sustainability, carbon accounting, evaluating, and implementing GHG goals, and/or relevant experience
Strong analytical and data management abilities.
1+ years of experience analyzing raw ingredient materials and value-chain/Scope 3 GHG emissions, including knowledge of LCA software is preferred
Strong understanding of food and agriculture value chains is preferred.
Knowledge of sustainability related laws, regulations, and policies is preferred.
Experience using Power BI or similar data visualization tool preferred
Software management/development experience
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel required
Ability to validate, manipulate, and interpret large amounts of data from multiple sources
Ability to leverage internal and external data to create descriptive and predictive solutions for key business initiatives
Skills:
Advanced writing and communication skills required
Ability to engage with all organizational levels and actively participate in cross-functional discussions
Ability to put analysis in the appropriate business context and be able to influence organization through findings
Drive for Results: sets high goals for personal accomplishment and meets or exceeds those goals
Knowledge of software development lifecycle and software acquisition lifecycle
The approximate pay range for this position is $82,000- $102,000 base. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location.
