Operates and maintains an MRI scanner to obtain quality images for physician interpretations. Develop and maintain imaging and safety protocols and maintain all record keeping required to meet state and federal regulations. Provides specific guidance and instruction to staff on all imaging, safety and regulatory requirements as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1. High School Diploma or equivalent. 2. ARRT Certification: Radiography. 3. ARRT Certification: Obtain MRI within One year of hire. 4. West Virginia State Licensure. 5. Current BCLS certificate.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1. ARRT Certification: MRI EXPERIENCE: 1. Experience performing MRI procedures.

  1. Participates in education programs to meet mandatory requirements and identified needs with regard to gob and personal growth.
  2. Follows through with suggestions from supervisor or self-assessment to meet identified needs with regard to job and personal growth.
  3. Reports to work as scheduled and notifies department when unable to work per UHC policy and procedures.
  4. Demonstrates flexibility to meet the needs of departmental or hospital in regard to changes in work volume, planned change, scheduling changes and emergency call-back (i.e., weather disaster).
  5. Ensure all staff are properly licensed and certified in accordance with hospital and state requirements.
  6. Perform all required diagnostic MRI scanning through proper positioning and techniques. Demonstrates ability to self-critique images.
  7. Assist radiologist during procedures as needed.
  8. Screens patients before exam for any precautions or contraindications pertaining to the examination (ie., claustrophobia, pain, metal implants...). Reduce patient anxiety and ensure patient cooperation. Monitor patients within the department and address their needs or special requirements according to hospital and department policy and procedure.
  9. Able to perform venipuncture competently, in accordance with hospital policy.
  10. Willing to accept add-on patients / exams to accommodate patient needs.
  11. Maintains daily calibrations according to established policy.
