BHE GT&S has an exciting career opportunity for an Engineer I/Engineer II/Sr Engineer or Sr Engineer II within our Pipeline Integrity group located at our White Oaks General Office in Bridgeport, WV.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As our Pipeline Integrity Engineer you will be involved in both Pipeline Integrity and Corrosion responsibilities. In this position you will primarily: * Develop, manage and review gas transmission integrity projects, Integrity Management Plans, Risk Ranking Plans, integrity standards/procedures, and develop corrosion control policies/procedures. * Evaluate, analyze, and recommend techniques and new technologies to provide effective pipeline integrity programs that ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and BHE GT&S's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
In addition to the responsibilities outlined above and more specifically, The Pipeline Integrity Engineer will:
Participate in the in-line inspection assessments, field data collection, data analysis and project oversite. Oversee various integrity and compliance projects (e.g. pressure tests, guided wave analysis, direct assessments, navigable waterway dive inspections, etc.). Participate in and complete compressor station, facility, and site reviews to ensure compliance with federal regulations. Review industry best practices and recommend applications for GT&S's system. Provide technical troubleshooting and design support for regulated companies. Develop work procedure training for integrity assessment tasks. Establish and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by meeting customer needs and pursuing continuous improvement. Monitor and audit overall compliance programs and make recommendations. Quality check data from corrosion systems going to risk models. Perform atmospheric corrosion reviews. Lead direct assessments for external corrosion, internal corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking Develop, design, analyze, evaluate, and recommend corrosion control systems, policies, and procedures, to mitigate adverse effects on natural gas transmission. Review/design/approve cathodic protection systems for new pipeline and facility projects. Facilitate and manage development of standard designs and equipment selections for cathodic protection systems for transmission facilities. Perform difficult and complex work requiring a thorough knowledge of the subject matter and significant experience within functional assignment area. Schedule and coordinate major segments of complex projects to meet cost and time objectives. Plan and conduct work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation selection adaptation and modification of standard techniques procedures and criteria. Devise new approaches to problems encountered and develop engineering criteria ensuring compliance with design criteria and standards. At high levels of proficiency within this classification incumbents are expected to provide technical expertise and/or team leadership as needed. Required to apply intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to major projects that have significant impact on programs in varied areas and related fields. Expected to have or develop the ability to serve as a technical expert on engineering related legal and regulatory issues to outside entities. Participate in industry recognized organizations, conferences, and associations.
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications:
Engineer I: 0-2+ years of related engineering experience
Engineering degree from an accredited college/university, Internship preferred.
Engineer II:
Engineering degree from an accredited college/university and 1-3 years' experience.
Sr Engineer/Sr. Engineer II:
Engineering degree from an accredited college/university and 5 years industry experience. PE license preferred.
Engineer I/ Engineer II:
Four-year ABET accredited engineering degree (Engineer) Ability to monitor changes in technology with skill in developing, testing and recommending new ideas and strategies for the utilization of those changes. Demonstrated ability to interpret engineering schematics, drawings, and technical manuals. Demonstrated ability to prepare technical reports, project schedules, and cost estimates.
