Lockheed Martin Aerostructures Supervisor- 1st Shift in Bridgeport, Connecticut

Our Aerostructures group, based in Stratford, CT, is dedicated to the structural assembly of fixed-wing aircraft, ensuring the highest standards of quality and innovation.

THE WORK

As an Aero-structure Supervisor, you will lead and oversee a team of hourly bargaining unit employees engaged in the major assemblies and complete aircraft structures. Your key responsibilities will include:

Ensuring all components are completed according to blueprint requirements and delivered to the customer in a timely manner.

Managing the team’s productivity while adhering to safety, quality, schedule, and cost requirements.

Overseeing the transition of work requirements between shifts.

Managing and approving employees' timekeeping in SAP.

Participating in meetings throughout the day.

Managing employee development and preparing them for future job assignments.

Leading continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring standard work and environment, health, and safety (EH&S) requirements are met.

Complying with all company ethics policies, principles, and practices.

Managing direct and indirect budgets.

This role primarily operates on the first shift, with occasional extended workweeks, including select Saturdays and Sundays.

Basic Qualifications:

Able to manage multiple priorities and be flexible

Strong influencing skills

Must be able to lead a team and manage/resolve employee conflict

Good at following and creating procedures

Operate in a team environment

Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills for use at all levels of the organization

Advanced abilities with Microsoft Office products, SAP or similar ERP system, Solumina

Able to ensure accurate and thorough communications with key internal customers and employees

Must be willing to work weekends as needed

Desired Skills:

Familiarity with collective bargaining agreement and supervising hourly/union employees.

Aircraft assembly knowledge.

Good at following and creating procedures.

Operate in a team environment.

Previous Sikorsky Experience.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: Non- standard 40 hour work week as assigned by leader
