Job Summary and Qualifications

The Manager of Data Management and BI will manage the development and deployment of Data Warehouse and BI products aligned to the businesses strategic plans. The employee will work closely with the business and other development teams. The employee will work closely with the business to develop the overall Data Warehouse and BI strategy for Physician Services.

The Manager of Data Management and BI will lead the developers in the delivery of Data Warehouse and BI products that address business needs, and furthermore, they will monitor utilization of Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC) Methodologies for product development. This manager will be a "hands-on" leader for the Financial, Operational, Lab, and Hospital-Based Physicians BI analytics development team. This manager will be a key contributor to our multi-Cloud data strategy and will help define and implement Physician Services data appropriately across cloud architecture including Google Cloud and Azure.

The Manager of Data Management and BI should be able to effectively communicate complex ideas to a diverse population, demonstrate a forward-looking perspective, and be able to manage tactical decision-making processes. This role should practice attentive listening, and display empathy towards others' ideas and perspectives. The Manager of Data Management and BI should perform all duties with a focus on quality of work and attention to detail with a high level of self-management and self-awareness.

The Manager of Data Management and BI will maintaining strong relationships with business partners and product users in order to develop an understanding of how business owners/practitioners utilize the product(s).

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manages design of products to ensure products align to the customer's strategic plans and technology road maps

• Manages specific Data Warehouse and BI product development efforts and capability updates

• Manages all aspects of Business Intelligence reporting and analytics

• Supervises management of BI analytics development teams, providing direction, motivation, technical support and guidance

• Motivates value based decision making and Lean principles across teams

• Manages the development of scorecards, standard reports and dashboards, report objects, metrics, filters, and prompts

• Articulates existing system structure, constraints and deficiencies with product to development, customer engagement, architecture and support teams

• Contributes to technology option discussions and decisions for a product

• Monitors utilization of Systems Development Lifecycle Methodology is utilized for product development

• Takes a product-centric view in managing product architecture documentation, its implementation and troubleshooting guides

• Monitors unit testing of products and reviews technical product and implementation guides

• Manages the use of best practices, principles and guidelines for team are used in creating a shared vision for software development

• Manages code reviews and product documentation

• Participates in the development of the overall Business Intelligence development strategy

• Pursues new methods and solutions, thinks outside the box, connects disparate ideas, is comfortable using unorthodox methods

• Manages staffing needs and oversees interview and hiring process for dedicated resources

• Motivates and directs resources to drive results across multiple departments

• Manages performance of individuals and takes action as needed

• Manages the deployment, change, configuration, management, administration and maintenance of deployment process and systems.

• Strong organizational and problem solving skills are essential

• Identifies critical issues with ease

• Experience with Agile/Scrum development

• Experience with data warehousing principles for business intelligence solutions

• Experience with a variety of Business Intelligence tools (Microstrategy, Business Objects, Cognos, etc.)

• Experience with a variety of Data Integration (ETL) tools (TPT, DMExpress, SSIS, Informatica, etc.)

• Experience with a variety of Database Management Systems (DBMS) especially Teradata, SQL Server, Oracle, Netezza, etc.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS

• Some travel required but generally less than 5%.

• Typical work week hours can vary depending on workload, outages or project deliverables.
