Graybar Human Resources Generalist in Brentwood, Missouri

As a Human Resources Generalist, you will partner closely with Subsidiary leadership and Graybar Corporate HR to advise subsidiary employees on Human Resources strategies, policies, practices, and procedures to assist with effective business operations. You will be responsible for a broad range of topics, including employment law compliance, employee relations, training, management support, and talent management. You will be responsible for multiple subsidiary assignments.

In this role you will:

  • Provide human resources guidance and counseling to managers and/or employees on the effective application of the Company’s HR policies, practices, and procedures.

  • Assist in the implementation of Company-wide HR strategies that support successful business outcomes.

  • Participate in change management efforts and complex communications initiatives.

  • Serve as a liaison between the subsidiaries and corporate to support and deliver communication and roll out Company initiatives across all areas of HR.

  • Oversee recruiting, onboarding, employee engagement, recognition, and performance management activities.

  • Help managers create training and development plans for employees.

  • Conduct diversity and college outreach.

  • Ensure subsidiary compliance with federal, state, and local employment and labor regulations.

  • Conduct investigations and/or reviews of employee, management or third-party concerns. Take remedial action when appropriate.

What you bring to the table:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in Human Resources or related area

  • Experience in a small to mid size organization with complex systems and multi-site responsibilities

  • Four-year degree: Human Resources or related field of study

  • HR certification preferred

  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations

  • Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques and practices

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and related applications

  • Knowledge of Workday or other information systems used in human resource applications

  • Analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills

  • Interpersonal skills

  • Negotiation skills

  • Ability to influence multiple levels within the Company

  • Ability to coach and counsel many levels of employees through complicated legal and employee relations issues

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints

  • Up to 50% local travel is required

Work shift and hours:

  • Full-time, salaried, exempt.

  • Monday - Friday all in-office

  • 8:00am - 5:00pm

  • Frequent travel between multiple office locations

Compensation Details:

  • The expected rate of pay for this position is starting at $65,000 annually depending on experience.

  • This position is also bonus eligible - based on specific and relevant business metrics.
