The Job:

As a Production Planner, you’ll be part of our Brea, CA team working as an Onsite employee. The Production Planner/Scheduler Plans, schedules, coordinates, and monitors the flow of products through the complete production cycle. Provides timely planning and scheduling of manufacturing work orders to the manufacturing floor to achieve both customer delivery dates and optimize throughput / mix efficiency. Monitors capacity versus utilization and provides routine reports on status and recommendations.

You’ll get to:

  • Lead planning process for assigned product lines and ensures cross-functional consensus is reached on operation demand plans and inventory plans required to support customer service, and revenue objectives

  • Works closely with Inside Sales, Planning, Supervisors, Purchasing, Quality and Manufacturing Departments, coordinating and ensuring that schedules and material related issues are maintained, and products are completed and shipped in a timely manner

  • Must take ownership of the following on product lines assigned: On time deliveries, Schedule attainment and Past Due items

  • Coordinates planning strategy for independent and dependent items, converts planned orders to production orders verifying material and capacity available

  • Responsible for printing, splitting, and issuing jobs for assigned product lines, including updating GEMBA boards

  • Monitoring Raw Material and Subcomponents Material Availability, maintaining optimal inventory levels for assigned product lines through the active use of MRP

  • Utilize ERP, create and update daily/weekly Production Schedules for assigned product lines from a capacity feasibility and execution standpoint

  • Responsible for maintaining redates in ERP system ensuring job start and completion dates are accurate and current, including job portal updates as needed.

  • Responsible for tracking material discrepant reports for assigned products to ensure disposition is made in a timely manner

  • Responsible for month-end activities related to closing jobs, scrap, and adjustments; reporting on aging WIP for assigned product lines

  • Responsible for setting priorities for component stores, materials lab, outside processing and final inspection; following up to ensure jobs stay on schedule

  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through two or more years of increasingly responsible related production planning experience.

  • Advanced specialized knowledge of manufacturing resource planning principles, automated systems, industry practices, regulations, and policies

  • Ability to effectively assess, lead, and implement continuous improvement methods (e.g., pull systems, JIT)

  • Thorough knowledge of manufacturing resource planning systems and interface operations; proficient in standard business application software

  • Ability to respond to significant inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on complex topics to top management, customers, and/or boards of directors.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Ability to effectively demonstrate team member competencies and participate in goal setting, performance feedback, and self-development activities.

The Person:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution; Business Administration, and experience which has provided both theoretical and practical knowledge in the field OR applicable experince.

  • Minimum of 2 years planning or logistics experience with both of those years being in manufacturing.

  • APICS certification preferred.

  • Enterprise Resource Planning or Material Resource Planning experience is required.

  • Ability to utilize ERP or MRP Software. JDE is a plus.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Demonstrated capability working with Microsoft Office suite of products; extremely proficient in Excel formulas, look-ups and pivot tables. Query capability is a plus.

  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

The base pay range for this position in California is $54,500 - $76,500 per year. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on payment may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
