Overview
To assist the technical staff of a claims office in any manner directed to expedite the adjustment of claims. Position has regular contact with customers, agents and other claims representative in an effort to support and improve the customer experience. All job duties and responsibilities must be carried out in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Receives, reviews and coordinates correspondence, (physical and electronic) from customers, agents and others relative to a claim file. Revies, attach/upload correspondence and takes necessary action to address including notifying the claim adjuster and/or examiner for necessary response whether manually or via flood system.
Receive and enter new losses into claims system and send our required notices to customers, agents, public adjusters, etc.
- Process payments and manual checks as needed by working with claims examination staff and management. Any payments must be in compliance with FEMA and Selective rules and regulations.
Processes and coordinates correspondence, mail, forms, and letters in flood system Reviews claim system and follows up on open items as needed.
Posts data to appropriate systems and generates and maintains claim records, reports, rosters, and/or logs. May be responsible for preparing claim files for quality control audits.
Handle the check issuance process relative to check reissues, stale dated claim checks and other claims payment issues.
Manage the license validation and assignment of third party claim vendors such as engineers, forensic accountants, subrogation vendors, etc. May make expense payments to these vendors in accordance with FEMA's National Flood Insurance Program and department rules and regulations and under the direction of claims examiners and/or claims management.
Must be able to use multiple claim processing systems, including Selective's flood system and FEMA PIVOT system.
- May assist with managing vendor compliance, including but not limited to: adjuster compliance with NFIP processing standards (preliminary reports, status reports, final reports, etc). engineer compliance with state licensure, and similar vendor management tasks.
Qualifications
Knowledge and Requirements
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Proven experience in multitasking and time management skills
1-2 years previous administrative support experience preferred
1-2 years claims or insurance experience preferred
Proficient in Outlook and Microsoft Office.
Education and Experience
College degree required
Experience in call center type work preferred
1-3 year of insurance or claims experience a plus

Pay RangeUSD $45,000.00 - USD $62,000.00 /Yr.
