Job Description:

Responsible for performing chemical dependency evaluations, participating in contributing to interdisciplinary treatment and discharge plans and providing individual and group chemical dependency counseling services. The chemical dependency counselor works with clients age 18 through geriatric. The counselor will have skills to carry out the core functions identified by Minnesota Statutes Chapter 148C regarding alcohol and drug counselor licensure (see addendum).

Education Qualifications:

Required Education:

• Documentation of completion of a two-year chemical dependency treatment training program; or, graduate with degree in counseling with emphasis in alcohol and drug counseling preferred.

Work Experience:

• Must have 2 consecutive years sobriety immediately preceding employment if chemically dependent

Licensure/Certification Qualifications:

Required Certifications:

• Possesses Minnesota Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor ( LADC ) credential.

Job Location: St Josephs Medical Center

Shift Rotation: Day Rotation (United States of America)

Shift Start/End: 8:00am/4:30pm

Hours Per Pay Period: 80

Compensation Range: $22.77 - $34.15 / hour
