The Position

• On offer is a position in the UKIE RWE Center of Excellence that will have high visibility in the Boehringer organisation as an expert and leader in the publication and externalization of real world evidence and data. This is an opportunity to shape the advocacy of evidence and deliver high quality UK/Ireland-focused real world evidence publications and presentations for key products in the Boehringer pipeline.

• The position will interface deeply with members of the medical team, and other functions including HEOR, Value and Outcomes, Health Systems Engagement, and Patient Engagement.

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Design a successful publication strategy in high impact scientific venues for epidemiological and real world evidence studies to advocate for the value of therapies in our pipeline, drive health systems transformation and practice change, and set our pipeline launches for success

• Writes and screens relevant study documents for externalization, including abstracts, manuscripts, and presentations to ensure high quality advocacy and dissemination of real world evidence internally and externally

• Takes a prominent role in the organisation as a recognised authority on evidence externalization and venues for scientific advocacy (e.g. journals, congresses, etc), collaborating cross functionally to lead development of high quality real world evidence publication strategies aligned with the brand plans

• Explores publication and presentation opportunities (e.g. TA-aligned venues for presentation of scientific data) and engagement capabilities that have the potential to enhance and contribute to the publication strategy

• Forms a key part of process quality assurance related to the delivery of evidence-related publications, including developing, enforcing and enhancing SOPs, providing expert advice and training on the publications process, and fostering a growth and development mindset in the organisation.

Requirements

• Academic qualifications related to medical writing, publications strategy, epidemiology and/or real world evidence data

• Proven strong practical knowledge of advocacy strategy, real world evidence, the publications process, and the publications market, including conferences, journals, and other similar venues for externalisation of real world studies

• Experience in the pharmaceutical industry in publications and/or external engagement, communications strategy

• Fluency in English (writing, reading, speaking), including confidence and engaging manner in presentation

• Effective collaboration and strategic working style, with respect for cultural norms, gender identity, and neurodiversity

• Ambitious with career plans, able to work effectively under pressure as demonstrated by successful leadership delivering epidemiological studies from conceptualisation to publication
