Job Description Step into Your New Role As aStructural Engineer, you will work as a lead on many industrial projects that include water/wastewater treatment facilities, medium to large industrial facilities, and institutional facilities for municipal, state, federal, higher education, and private industry. This position is hybrid and will report to Toledo, OH and Columbus, OH offices. This role will require 40% travel to local project sites. Responsibilities:
- Perform analysis and design of structures that include gravity and lateral systems conceptual designs.
- Prepare contract drawings and specifications, estimating costs, and construction administration duties.
- Formulate structural design calculations in accordance with applicable design standards and agency requirements.
- Review shop drawings and erection procedures.
- Process and conveyance to develop plans, coordinate elements, and determine structural implications of other engineering work.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams such as site-civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering.
- Mentor the technical development of staff to encourage professional growth.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) License registered in Ohio or ability to obtain within one year of start date.
- 10 years of demonstratable design experience in the structural engineering field including experience in engineering, analysis, and drafting of water/wastewater treatment facilities, and industrial facilities.
- Proven ability to design and detail complex structures in Risk Category II, with a strong emphasis on Risk Category III and IV.
- Experience in the design of steel, concrete, and masonry.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Revit, Bluebeam Revu, and AutoCAD.
- Ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and work independently.
- Willingness to travel to local project sites.
- Valid drivers license with demonstrated safe driving practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the design of timber and cold-formed steel.
- Ability to lift 75 pounds.
- Competent in working at heights using ladders, rope belays, and fall protection.
