Coordinator, Eligibility and Audits Bowling Green State University Salary: Depends on Qualifications Job Type: Full-Time Division: Enrollment Management Opening Date: 09/18/2024 Location: Main Campus (BG), OH Job Number: BGSU00557 Department: Enrollment Management Closing: Summary The Coordinator Eligibility and Audits is responsible for the daily management, direction, and supervision of all SFA verification, student eligibility, and federal/state compliance issues and audits for the Student Financial Aid and Scholarships Office. This person must maintain the highest level of knowledge of all federal and state financial aid regulations and institutional polices to ensure the delivery of financial aid funds and services are compliant, timely and accurate. They serve as an integral part of the strategic SFA management team to analyze, recommend and implement new initiatives that promote student recruitment and retention for the University as a whole. Position Schedule: Full time position with an option for a flexible/hybrid work schedule (remote/on campus). Work location: Bowling Green, Ohio. Essential Functions • Manages/leads all aspects of student eligibility and compliance as it relates to the financial aid application process at both the federal and state level. Including but not limited to: • Manage and monitor the over 35,000 Individual Student Information Records (ISIR) annually imported into the financial aid delivery system (PeopleSoft) and serve as the official application for financial aid. • Manages the SFA verification audit process which ensures ISIRs are verified in accordance with the U. S. Dept. of Education federal regulations. SFA verifies over 1500 ISIR records each year and reviews approximately 800 student additional records for eligibility purposes. • Manage all aspects of verification and certification processing including understanding IRS tax laws and collecting supporting documentation that supports selective service registration and citizenship eligibility based on the US Citizenship and Immigration Services standards. • Assists in the creation and maintenance of SFA forms/web applications, checklists and service indicators, as well as the annual testing of upgrades to the system needed to assess student eligibility and keep BGSU compliant. • Responsible for ensuring the review of semester enrollment is completed and aid is adjusted in accordance with the U.S. Dept. of Education federal regulations when a student drops classes or withdrawals from the University. Continually assesses and updates SFA policies and procedures as University withdrawal and cancellation policies and procedures change. Includes the oversight for R2T4 calculations as well as leads census date and enrollment verification processes each semester. • Serve as Office lead for federal and state audits: • A-133 federal Title IV audit. Consults with auditors, gathers documentation, and provide explanations of federal regulations in support of office processes and or in dispute of audit determinations. Maintains records of all audit submissions. • Ohio Department of Higher Education financial aid audit. Working in conjunction with Office of the Bursar, Office of Admissions, Office of Records and Registrations, and SFA Coordinator of State Aid and Special Programs, coordinates all activity with regard to audit requests and submission of documentation. • Federal Program Reviews - plays integral role in assisting SFA Director with collection of documentation and examining documentation before, during and after reviews are completed. • Maintains Federal and State regulatory knowledge base by daily and weekly reading of Federal Registers, National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators Newsletters, Federal Student Aid Handbook, and correspondence from State officials. • Serves
