English, Lucas, Priest, and Owsley, LLP is seeking an experienced Real Estate Paralegal to join our Bowling Green, KY office.ELPO Law has served Bowling Green and the surrounding areas of the Commonwealth of Kentucky for over 50 years. As the largest, full-service law firm in the region, we are looking for a candidate who has at least 7 years of experience. This Paralegal position will assist attorneys in our Real Estate group.Hourly rate based on experience.Supervisory Responsibilities:NoneDuties/Responsibilities:·Review and prepare general correspondence, mortgages, deeds, assignment of leases and rents, etc.Review purchase and sale contractsReview, request, and order mortgage payoffs, etc.Record important dates and maintain filesOrganize closing fundsCalendar all critical dates and contingenciesPrepare a closing checklist, which includes outlining critical dates and the responsibilities of all partiesCoordinate closing with all parties in the transaction, including the buyer, sellers, title insurance company, opposing counsel, and lenderPrepare closing documents, closing reports, and accountsConduct a title search and prepare title opinions and commitmentsReview and analyze the surveyRecord all required real estate documents, and when recorded, perform follow up title clearing, remit title insurance and forward documents to proper partiesObtain and prepare corporate documents, including authorization of the applicable parties to purchase/sellConduct public record searches of parties, including judgment, tax liens, and UCC filingsObtain closing figures from the bank and prorate amounts for real and property taxes, utilities, and rentRequired Knowledge, Skills/Abilities:Excellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent interpersonal and customer service skillsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailExcellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlinesAbility to balance multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneouslyStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environmentAbility to handle confidential and sensitive information with the utmost discretionSelf-motivated to accomplish tasksProficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related softwareKnowledge of other software used in a legal office (e.g., DocuSign, NetDocs, Juris, etc.)Education and Experience:At least 7 years of experience as a real estate paralegal requiredAssociate or Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal studies or related field preferredParalegal certificate preferredPhysical Requirements:Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computerELPO Law provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.This policy applies to all terms and conditions of employment, including recruiting, hiring, placement, promotion, termination, layoff, recall, transfer, leaves of absence, compensation, and training.Job Type: Full-timePay: From $26.00 per hourBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offRetirement planVision insuranceSchedule:8 hour shiftDay shiftWork Location: In person
