About the Role

To lead the department to successfully meet the divisions goals and objectives. Directs, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering and maintenance projects at the facility by performing the following duties personally or through assigned direct or indirect teams.

Your Responsibilities

  • Know and understand Bowling Green Metalforming Quality and Environmental policies.

  • Follows and supports Magna’s operating principles.

  • Drive uptime improvement efforts by implementing a preventive maintenance program and coordinating corrective maintenance activities.

  • Ensure that proper staffing, training, tools, and maintenance plans are in place to maximize equipment availability in the most cost efficient manner.

  • Work closely with other departments and members of the Press Team to drive root cause identification and maintenance reduction/elimination activities

  • Responsible for identification, implementation, and verification of continuous improvement opportunities.

  • Ensures accurate and timely KPI and performance reporting; derives and initiates permanent corrective actions in case of deviations and monitors the implementation and effectiveness.

  • Maintain Business Management System to support ISO/TS16949 System, as well as ISO 14001.

  • Responsible for Plant and Equipment compliance with Environmental, O.S.H.A., and all other Federal or State requirements having to do with Health and Welfare.

  • Leads, schedules, and directs maintenance technicians based upon skill set required to perform task at hand.

  • Perform other duties as required.

Who we are looking for

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Must have current job classification of a Maintenance Tech II or above

  • Minimum four (4) years Maintenance experience preferred

  • Minimum four (4) years of supervisory experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proven knowledge of operations/manufacturing/engineering/quality assurance

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills with the ability to respond to questions from internal and external customers

  • Strong analytical skills, excellent at managing data at a detail level

  • Business acumen and ability to exercise sound judgment in the course of executing daily responsibilities

  • Creative thinker, able to define, implement and/or lead process improvement activity

  • Able to address and resolve ambiguity; prioritize, multi-task, and work independently

  • Computer Skills
