Robert Half is looking for an MBE Procurement Administrator to drive all MBE procurement functions for a local higher education institution.

Overview of Responsibilities:

• Oversee both direct and indirect procurement efforts for the institution, serving as the key contact between vendors and the state to ensure effective communication and streamlined procurement processes.

• Organize and participate in internal and external events to represent the institution, fostering positive vendor relationships and facilitating procurement discussions.

• Ensure adherence to all procurement regulations, including MBE reporting, while maintaining comprehensive records of procurement activities and vendor communications.

• Identify and source new vendors for a variety of services and goods, such as construction, maintenance, software, sewer lines, trash pickup, and other vital services required for institution operations.

• Conduct price and contract negotiations with vendors to secure the best value for the institution, balancing cost-efficiency with quality and reliability.

• Manage and maintain copies of all blank agreements, negotiate terms and conditions, and oversee the redlining and markup process before agreements are submitted to the legal department for approval.

• Work closely with internal departments to assess procurement needs, develop effective procurement strategies, and align procurement activities with the institutions operational objectives.

• Undertake special projects and other duties as assigned to support and enhance the institutions procurement function.

  Requirements

• 8+ years of MBE procurement experience, including experience with redlining and marking up preliminary agreements.

• Proven experience in procuring both services and goods.

• Degree required unless the candidate holds a procurement certification.

• Experience with Oracle, Workday, or other large ERP systems is preferred.

• Demonstrated abilities in authentic, transparent communication, critical thinking, high-quality work production, effective time management, and relationship management.

• Strong public speaking skills with the ability to present at events and effectively communicate with all program stakeholders.
