Planting of transplants in field and greenhouse, cultivation of field and greenhouse crops.
Harvesting of crops. Washing and packaging of crops for distribution. Duties may include:
hand weeding with and without provided tools (hoes, shovels, rakes, etc.); washing of crops,
harvest containers, or equipment; crop management tasks such as trellising, covering with row
cover, setting anti-deer fences, moving irrigation pipes; packing, weighing, grading vegetables.
Work is performed mostly outside or in greenhouses as well as in a barn and refrigerated area.
Work is performed in all weather conditions, including hot, cold, wet and dry conditions. Work
requires ability to repeatedly lift and move up to 50 pounds, work at a repeated task for long
periods of time, and working from bending, stooping, kneeling, and standing positions. We
require basic understanding of English communication for safety instructions. 2 months
experience in the above mentioned duties is required. Operation of farm trucks and tractors is
sometimes required for work completion.
