Job Description:

Parsons is looking for a talented Network Engineer to join our growing team!

Parsons experience in this highly demanding field will propel your career as you work alongside other network team members to design, implement, and maintain LAN and WAN solutions within a primarily Juniper and Palo Alto Network environment. We’re looking for an experienced network engineer that can design, test, deploy, document, and support hardware and network solutions.

This role is onsite in Boulder Monday-Friday, regular business hours.

What You'll Be Doing :

  • Provide onsite Tier 1/2 network and hardware administration support in a primarily Red Hat/ESXi environment with Red Hat Identity Manager and a Juniper Network baseline

  • Monitor system for anomalies or issues requiring attention or escalation

  • Perform initial troubleshooting of system issues

  • Participate in developing and implementing design solutions to meet architectural requirements

  • Assist in the rack, stack, design, cabling, documentation, and testing of network, compute, and storage devices

  • Automate Juniper and Palo Alto network builds, configurations, and security hardening per STIG guidance

  • Conduct and analyze data captures to obtain network performance information

  • Analyze network configurations and provide deployment guidance to ensure that implementations are consistent with design specifications and best practices

  • Assist with network inventory tracking and management to support the network

  • Monitor vendor Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs) for applicability to the environment and work with stakeholders to mitigate vulnerabilities

  • Test and document product features and functionality

  • Configure, implement, and test/troubleshoot crypto devices

  • Develop network and equipment operating procedures

  • Evaluating technical specifications for interoperability

  • Configure switches, routers and firewalls

  • Secures network systems by enforcing policies and defining and monitoring access

  • Provide solution guidance for tech refreshes and environment baseline builds

  • Engineer and implement security measures for the protection of computer systems, networks, and information

  • Provide support to security teams for RMF requirements

  • Occasional/infrequent after hours/weekend support may be required

What Required Skills You'll Bring :

  • Active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI within one year of hire

  • Product Knowledge or precise experience on one or more of the following: Juniper Product Lines, QFX Series Switches, EX Series Switches, MX Series Routers

  • Active Security+ Certification

  • 3+ years of relevant experience

  • Experience with network troubleshooting tools such as but not limited to, Wireshark, Netflow, and SNMP based troubleshooting tools

  • Knowledge of JunOS,Cisco IOS, and NIOS

  • Experience with physical network hardware installation

  • Hands on experience in security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, and content filtering

  • Experience with network security and networking technologies and with system, security, and network monitoring tools

  • Automation and scripting experience in support of automated network deployments (Ansible preferred)

  • Experience in a large-scale enterprise network environment spanning multiple data centers with high-availability requirements

  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a larger team consisting of government and contractor team members

What Desired Skills You Might Bring :

  • Active TS/SCI

  • Strong understanding and experience with configuring and troubleshooting routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF

  • Strong understanding of EVPN/VXLAN technology

  • Experience with Palo Alto Firewalls

  • Experience with load balancers

  • Experience with integration and configuration of crypto devices

  • Experience with Ansible for automated network builds and security hardening

  • Experience with software-defined networking (SDN) and network automation tools

  • Experience with Juniper Apstra

  • Experience Juniper Security Director

  • Experience in a DOD IT enterprise preferred

  • Experience in enterprise or cloud-scale data center design engineering.

  • Experience with L2 switching and L3 routing protocols and technologies

  • Unix/Linux OS experience

  • CCNA

  • CCNP

  • CCIE

Salary Range:

$96,400.00 - $168,700.00
