The Campus Controller's Office at CU Boulder welcomes applications for the Fiscal Compliance Risk Analyst position! This vital role supports campus-wide fiscal compliance through risk testing and reviews, risk monitoring and assessment, and by assisting in the implementation of the annual fiscal compliance review plan.

This position reports to the Associate Director of Fiscal Compliance. The Fiscal Compliance Risk Analyst position is a professional position requiring technical experience with enterprise risk assessment and management, compliance, and/or auditing. This role must be able perform duties on a timely basis (both independently and in collaboration with members of the Fiscal Compliance team), and communicate effectively with diverse campus partners. Successful candidates demonstrate experience with planning and organization, research, data acquisition and management, and effective communication.

Who We Are

The Campus Controller's Office maintains and supports the university's fiscal responsibility through accurate financial accounting and reporting and in compliance with laws, regulations, policies/procedures and contract requirements for sponsored projects. We provide oversight, assistance and training in financial stewardship for the campus.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Compliance Testing (Strategic Priority: Process Excellence):

  • Designing testing exercises that support fiscal compliance review priorities, facilitate the evaluation of emerging and existing risks, and measure financial impact to the university.

  • Developing new tools and using existing resources to compile, review, analyze, and communicate data in support of testing priorities.

  • Maintaining an accurate and detailed record of all testing exercises, including their purpose, methodology, execution, and findings.

  • Identifying emerging fiscal compliance and related operational risks and proposing future testing priorities to understand those risks.

  • Remaining current with fiscal policies and procedures across the University.

Risk Monitoring and Assessment (Strategic Priority: Process Excellence):

  • Perform ongoing monitoring of fiscal transactions with a high likelihood and consequence for non-compliance, and report instances of non-compliance on a timely basis.

  • Identify non-compliance trends and communicate strategies to improve monitoring effectiveness.

  • Develop procedures to accurately record routine risk monitoring activities.

Supporting the annual fiscal compliance review plan (Strategic Priority: University Satisfaction):

Communications and Reporting (Strategic Priority: University Satisfaction):

  • Communicate analyses and findings to diverse partners across the university in a manner appropriate to the audience.

  • Suggest and/or develop tools to improve the risk awareness of campus partners and assist in their own mitigating responses.

Supporting Investigations (Strategic Priority: Infrastructure Enhancements):

  • Research fiscal transactions relevant to ongoing investigations to support fact-finding or establish appropriate operational risk responses.

What We Can Offer

The salary range for this position is $68,000 - $72,000 annually.Relocation may be offered based on departmental guidelines.
