Job Summary

Colorado Law welcomes applications for the position of Evening and Weekend Circulation Supervisor to provide user-centered customer service and assistance at William A. Wise Law Library ! This position works closely with other services partners to ensure consistent service, and collaborates to improve practices as needed. This position supervises student employees and the circulation desk during evening and weekend operational hours. This position operates independently for signicant work periods and can exibly address complex issues within the scope of the Library Circulation Policy.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Circulation Desk Customer Service:

  • Staff the William A. Wise circulation desk in-person.

  • Provide general patron services: circulation, printing, scanning, materials access, (using stacks, microform machines, etc.), and appropriate referrals

  • Assist with other library services and routine patron account needs (study rooms, reserves, etc.).

  • Resolve common customer service issues and provide appropriate solutions to non-standard patron issues and inquiries.

  • Independently use job knowledge to derive solutions to non-standard patron issues and problems.

Library Support Services:

  • Monitor and work with Access Services.

  • Assist Access Services Librarian to evaluate current library services, procedures, practices, and documentation for improvements and edit accordingly.

  • Serves as evening & weekend site liaison for the Assistant Director for Facilities and Operations.

  • Stay current with any changes in library procedures.

Weekend and Evening Circulation Supervision:

  • Provide on-site support during weekend and evening operational hours, subject to change as per seasonal needs.

  • Work closely with the Access Services Librarian to ensure successful student worker scheduling and collaboration.

  • Identify potential scheduling challenges with circulation desk coverage and make suggestions for long-term solutions. Independently resolves short-term staffing needs.

  • Hire circulation desk student employees.

  • Train student personnel in circulation procedures and policies.

  • Supervise student personnel during weekend and evening operational hours.

  • Work closely with the Access Services Librarian to provide feedback on students and training needs.

Collection Processing and Maintenance:

  • Collaborate with the Access Services Librarian to supervise student employees and develop processes in collection management projects.

  • Initiate and undertake routine collection management processes within the William A. Wise Law Library.

What You Should Know

  • The ability to work on-site in the evenings and weekends is required; remote work is not an option.

  • Typical academic year schedule is:

  • Wednesday through Friday, from 2:30 PM to 10:30 PM

  • Saturday and Sunday, from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM

  • Hours and days may vary based on the summer schedule.

What We Can Offer

The starting salary range for this position is $39,000 - $48,000.

What We Require

  • Two years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position;

OR

  • A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in a related occupation.

  • Must be a Colorado resident to apply.
