Summary:

As the Software Engineer II-Connectivity, you will have experience with the medical industry standard DICOM. In addition, responsibilitieswill include participation in team-oriented, Agile/Lean development processes and practices leading to the delivery of high-quality medical device software. As a team member, the candidate will develop and maintain connectivity related features in our embedded software. The candidate will ensure timely test and integration of delivered software as hosted within state-of-art portable ultrasound devices. The candidate willwork closely with a cross-functional team of ultrasound systems engineers, ultrasound clinical specialists and UX designers to translate system designs into software solutions that span the full application programming stack

Essential Job Functions:

Develops full stack medical device software:

  • Participating deeply in all aspects of the software development lifecycle, including planning, designing, documenting, implementing, testing, deploying, and maintaining complex software architectures and features

  • Designs, maintains and optimizes connectivity features

  • Analyzes system requirements and UX designs

  • Diplomatically collaborate with UX designers, other engineers, architects and product owners.

  • Assesses technical risks

  • Ensure software systems are reliable, scalable and high-performing while troubleshooting issues when they arise.

  • Estimates development effort, and communicates status on schedule and technical risks

  • Deliver and accept constructive critique on technical designs, solutions, implementation plans, and code reviews frequently throughout the development process

  • Communicates and documents designs and implementation

  • Performs software unit, integration, and system testing,

  • Integrates software deliverables with the larger system

  • Provide guidance and leadership to junior engineers on the team and promote best practices across the team.

  • Diagnoses and resolves issues

Knowledge and Experience:

  • B.S. in Computer Science (Masters preferred) or similar engineering degree with discipline including Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering is required.

  • Proven experience in testing and developing DICOM related features.

  • Experience in Modern C++ Understanding of general SW design patterns and principles (SOLID Principles)

  • Understanding of Object-Relational data access designs and frameworks

  • Experience developing a full-stack, production-quality

  • Experience with frontend web frameworks

  • Experience designing intuitive interfaces for end users

  • Experience with unit and integration test development using modern test frameworks

  • Experience with IDEs, toolchains, software configuration management tools (Git)

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong communication skills

  • Strong technical knowledge

  • Great with computer applications (excel etc.)

  • Ability to lift 25 pounds, with or without accommodations

Salary and Benefits:

  • $80,000.00 - $101,000.00 + variable bonus opportunity
